When your model looks better than the box art, you've done a good job

i picked up this beat up annual/promo 71 Vega with the intention of rebuilding it. The glass was cracked and the bumper missing a chunk. i repainted it and replaced the glass.
started like this:

DSCF0082 by aus_mus, on Flickr
Got it repainted in tamiya red primer and clear coated that. painted chassis and interior plain black.

If you're using it for 1/25 scale modeling, get a resin printer (SLA) instead of extruded plastic (FDM) for better detail. I've gone from a Flashforge FDM to a Creality LD-002R
See picture comparison left is FDM, right is SLA.
That said, If you want to print whole bodies in 1/25, you'll need a large format FDM with a big enough bed to print a body.

Also, I would like to know how I should go about color matching my model to the paint of my real car? My car is Russet Metallic with Chamois accents (pictured)
I got the factory paint code from the build plate and took that to an auto body repair shop and they mixed up the color for me. i had to buy a full tin, but it was the correct color.

looks good. i like seeing people model their own cars. it's a good way to keep a memory of it.

Looks fabulous, but you have the same problem with the hood not sitting down properly, like i did. i found it was caused by the cowl and ground it down to make it fit nicer. i also took some off the radiator shroud.

Clear resin is availble, but the clearness is not great for windscreens, etc
