  1. ^ It certainly doesn't change anything about your build, i'm just a big Flying Lizard Porsche fan. This is great to see a real life version of a conceptual render. What've you got planned to build next?
  2. I'm 26 and have been a gearhead my entire life. As a baby apparently I made different engine sounds for different trucks, cars, and motorcycles before I said my first words. I couldn't leave the house as a toddler without a 1:64 hot wheels in each hand (it was always a tough choice of which two cars to take). Now? I own a 1974 Datsun Z, a couple Jeeps, and I do all of my own maintainance. I'm currently doing a frame up build of a 95 Jeep YJ, have done everything from minor repairs, to engine gaskets, to motor swaps and full suspension work. I suppose I come by it honestly though from my parents, my dad is wired the same. He's obsessed with cars like myself. He has a 2009 Nissan 370Z, a 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo and a couple of Jeeps. We work on our own vehicles and it's quite a hobby for us, it has kept us close my entire life from my teenage years where I raced motocross which likely kept me out of a lot of trouble and our bond strong.
  3. Thank you very much for the information. I'm going to have to order one of these for sure. I appreciate that you included the kit number as well. I look forward to your next build.
  4. I used foil "duct" tape to do the firewall on my Ferrari Enzo Revell 1:24 kit. (I know it's not near the caliber that most of you build at but it was my first model in about 16 years). It is actually the first model i've painted or done any sort of detail work on, because as a kid I used to just glue whatever was in the box together as per the instructions and toss on the decals with my dad. I started the build last winter, it's further along than these pics but I still have to finish it. And the real deal:
  5. That looks great! My dad has a 1:1 1979 Porsche 930 (911 Turbo). How did you find the quality of this model to be? I'm looking to build a replica of his car for him, it has early 90's wheels and a bunch of other goodies. It's Petrol Blue, seems to be a pretty difficult paint to match. Your model looks fantastic though, I love how you followed through with the little details on the black trim.
  6. Simply gorgeous build. Thank you for the "FOR SALE" sign tip. I will use that in the future, it turned out great in this build! Amazing. I'm a huge fan of ALMS and go to Mosport every August to watch, this car suits the racing class really well (although the #44 is already taken by one of the Flying Lizard Porsches ). I also like the engine details and how you explained each piece on the interior how it was built. It always helps when a modeller shares his little secrets. Sometimes they're the simplest things that end up looking great in the end! I look forward to your future builds.
  7. Nice! I have this kit to build as well, just got it. Not sure what colour I want to paint it yet. Is this the one that was the 2 'n 1 kit with the alternate grille and the ugly custom looking wheels as an option?
  8. That does look great. I like the paint, wheels, and flocking. Really nice job. I just got this model recently myself. I have yet to build it.
