Simply a gorgeous build. The under-hood detail is great!

I really like that! The paint looks better than the 1:1!

That looks like Testor's One Coat "Lime Ice" if i'm not mistaken? Nice job! I really like the subtle weathering on the exhaust tips.

As an owner of a 1:1 Datsun Z with a G-Nose kit on it I am very interested in this build. Nice work!

Nice! My neighbour has an orange 70 Challenger. Been planning to build one of these for him sometime soon.

I bought like 30 kits last year, does that count? I started three models last year, one was a replica of my dad's old 77 GMC stepside which I have about 95% finished and just never got back to doing after we moved. The other was a Ferrari Enzo kit which I have about 70% finished and again, didn't finish it after the move. In November I started a 60 Impala built that's about 50% finished and currently on the bench. Just getting back into it and hoping I get some more free time to build, I am not the type to put 15 mins in here and there. If I can't sit down for a couple hours un-distrubed and just build then I don't bother. Hence why very little has been accomplished.

Here in Ontario, Canada. A lot are $29.99 and $34.99 at Michaels and I can special order the SAME Revell kits from my local hobby shop for say $15-20 (depending on how old the kit is, average for a brand new one from LHS would be say $25 and premium kits can get up around $40). I've seen it on a few occasions, exact same kits for those two different prices between the two. Could be different in the states, i'm not sure. I don't think model car building is all that popular anymore around my area.

Yeah i've been trying to figure it out for a while what i'm gonna do with mine too.

That white 25th anniversary Countach is NICE! I'm a ferrari guy myself but there are a few Lamborghinis that get my attention. Mostly the Muira.

I can't believe Michaels manages to sell models at all with the prices they have (unless you use a 50% off coupon). I'd rather pay less than even the coupon price and support my local hobby shop by special ordering it in through them. I've been dealing with the same one for a couple years now. $35 for what I can get for $12-15 at a LHS is too big of a difference.

My dad had a Healey Sprite as his first car waayyyy back when (1960's). Cool model.
-
Beautiful build! Just the right mix of classy style and sports car.

It's just an air pump so there isn't much heat. I can only assume the glossy surface of the LEGO pieces and a loose tolerance would allow it to slide freely without generating much friction/heat at all.

i am SO angry right now. i hate models!

Take your time and if you're frustrated come back later with a cool head. There isn't much you can't repair or re-do on a plastic model. Another tip to avoid your "Sweaty hands" thing, I wear Nitrile Latex gloves (blue ones like say a doctor would wear). Just keeps you from getting skin oils on everything and also from potentially sticking your fingers together with crazy glue. -
In for updates. This has a LOT of potential.

Cats in the model room
Adam144 replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Our cat would DESTROY my model room. It's sort of a "man cave" in the basement where my PS3, big screen, PS3/PC racing seat w/ Logitech G27 wheel, etc. is all used. Our cat likes to chew on electrical cords and a lot of other small items. The door is CLOSED to her and she is never to be in there. Even if we're watching movies, can't trust her not to get behind the TV/surround sound and chew through a cord. I am still wondering why I let my girlfriend talk me into us getting one. I mean the cat has a TON of personality but she can also be a real P.I.T.A. -
Gorgeous Ferrari, one of my favourite Ferraris ever built. Nice details on the engine, and the paint finish is beautiful.

I honestly can't being critical of your work at all, it's a very good job all around.
-
Looks good! Were the wheels from the kit or were they sourced elsewhere?
-
Definitely my favourite Batmobile. Nice diorama!

That seal gray colour is really nice for the exterior. I like that it's not so dark that it's black and that it is sort of satin in finish. I will have to find it. Nice build.

Adam144 replied to 7000in5th's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Very nice! I just bought the Revell 2001? C5-R Le Mans kit on the weekend. These pics will come in handy when I build it. -
I haven't started yet but yeah, the deadline move would be good for me haha.

Clean work. How did you find the kit assembly? I bought one of these kits in the fall and haven't built it yet. I plan to build it in black, my old man has a 1:1 Black 370Z so I want to build a replica for him.
