  1. This kit so far has been a breeze to build. I decided to not use clear and just wax the Mica Blue. I painted the window trim and the panel lines. Looks like it’s ready to assemble…
  2. Thanks a lot Gary. The side panels have the base color coat done. Still need to clear coat them before adding the mounting hardware, (that I also still need to make…).
  3. How about : "We got dogs and Valvoline, it's pretty dam(n) good time"
  4. Very kind of you to say John, thanks! Lower side panels are being painted. More test fitting before final coats of yellow are added to the rear body and cowl…
  5. I shot the gray portions of the seats with a dark semi-metallic gray then hand painted the blue inserts then assembled the interior. I’m not too concerned with the interior door handles being silver as opposed to chrome since the tint and the windows diminish the view significantly. I masked the windows with the kit provided masks and shot the black trim. Then I removed the masks from the rear and side rear windows… …and sprayed the smoke tint. I went with limo tint on the side windows, lesser density on the back glass.
  6. "Pretty girls have a love affair, with their eyes and their shiny hair Fantasize like the world adores, tantalize like the cover girls"
  7. Kiss - New York Groove
  8. Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes
  9. I just wash my hands a lot.
  10. I sprayed the door panels German Gray and brush painted the blue inserts and speaker grilles as called out in the instructions. I did a really light wash of dark gray to enhance the engraved lines. Shot the body with a few light coats of Mica Blue, let it dry for a week and color sanded it with 2000 grit. Then shot three more coats about 45 minutes before taking these pictures. It is really hot today.
  11. Finally I can answer the question (at least part of it) that I have been asked so many times over the last couple months. What color will it be? (The white is just the base undercoat.)
  12. I see what you mean. After all, nobody ever kitted multiple versions of say a '57 Chevy...
  13. You might consider using clear sheet for the lenses and then taping them up like a weekend racer might do.
  14. Sorry, I already am "too far along", I painted the headlight buckets, and I don't have any clear resin if it turns out you need the lenses.
  15. Yes, Tamiya.
  16. I picked this kit up several years ago, when these cars/kits were very popular. I almost built it many times over the last decade, but each time put it on the back burner due to different reasons. I decided now or never is the time, and I wanted to paint something blue. Once I cleaned up the mold lines and scribed the panel lines a little deeper, I primed the body with gray Tamiya primer, re-sanded and then put a base coat of Tamiya Intermediate Blue. The wheels and calipers came pre-painted gold, but not on the back side, so I shot a coat of gold on the back to cover up the blue plastic while they were still on the sprue. I shot the single piece chassis with the same base and color blues as the body will get, and then proceeded with the hand painting of silver and black as well as some washes mixed from black, smoke and earth.
  17. It's actually the older Camaro. The Corvette is a whisper compared to it.
  18. Don't know what to tell you Harry. It works when I click on the link from here, and I'm not even on the same computer I posted it with.
  19. Sounds a little like this: http://vid41.photobucket.com/albums/e272/Superb7/MOV01471.mp4 Maybe a little less cam...

  21. Looking good. Did you have to rework the ignition boots/wires on the distributor to get the grille to fit? It was pretty tight in that area on mine.
  22. I installed the carbs and intake manifold assembly to the head and temporarily bolted the engine into the frame so I could fine tune the fit of the carbs through the hood. As expected, some filing and reshaping of the hole was needed…
  23. I started using two host accounts when I noticed the traffic the first one was getting. When those images go away, they will always return on the 20th of any given month. I noticed this month the bandwidth for that account was exceeded in barely a week.
  24. I have an IMC Avenger (GT40 Style kit car) kit that is molded in grass green.
