  1. I finally got this finished, just in time for NNL in Toledo. AMT kit with Revell fenders and Replica and Miniatures Ardun hemi. Lots of PE parts, including grill, brakes, etc.
  2. Its done. The interior was flocked, photo etch gauges were used, hat pins were used for shifters and the cage made from styrene tube. The body was detailed with Bare Metal Foil and a rear bumper was made from more tube. The engine has machine aluminum pulleys and magneto, plug wires, fuel lines, and heater hoses. I made the tall air cleaner from Detail Master screen. I added a radiater and overflow, a master cylinder with brake lines. The engine bay in this kit was very sparce, so if you see it I added it. The exhaust was made from solder with SuperTrapp muflers from Machined Aluminum Specialtys. More pics here http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/privateer1967/blazer/
  3. Heres one I finished a couple of weeks ago. Revells kit. Double Zed frame, channeled, bed shortened. Small block Chevy, with Weber side drafts. Wide whites on the back with chrome steelies and baby moons that I widened. I slightly weathered it. Front suspension is from AMT's 70 Camaro, rear suspension is from Revells 32 Ford.
  4. Here is a few shots of the finished chassis. You can see the leaf springs I used, and the shocks are from kit parts and styrene tube painted to look like Rancho shocks. I scratchbuilt a winch and mount for the front end.
  5. This is AMT's '72 Blazer. I lifted it with parts box leaf springs and blocks. The tires and wheels are from So Real. The paint is Tamiya Mica Red over Italian red and needs polished. I scratchbuilt the cage. The axles are from 2 old funny car kits with aluminum tube to widen them. The front axle has kitbashed tierods etc. Power will be from a bigblock. Hoodscoop is from the partsbox.
  6. Here's Revells new Merc. Nice kit, went together without any headaches at all. I did not care for the window glass though, it has the molding molded in the clear. The kit comes with very nice METAL exhaust tips, you can see one of them in the pics. I painted the car with Testors laquer, Artesian Turquoise , left in suede. enjoy the pics.
  7. Here is where I am with the engine. I parts bashed an injector to look like the real thing, added plug wires, and detail with paint using dry brushing and washes. More detail will be added during the last stages of the build.
  8. Just finished up this Revell Chopper. I was looking for an old school look. Added some rake and extended the forks. Although is does not show in the pics, color is pearl white.
  9. I do love the old showrods!! This one turned out great!!
  10. Just finished up this new Revell 1/6 scale 427 BBC. Nice kit, I built pretty much out of the box with some detail painting and washes.
  11. I recently finished this Chopper. Its my third chopper from this series. I lengthened the forks with some polished aluminum tubing, added some rake and removed some of the mounting lugs from the frame to clean it up some. I mildy reshaped the tank and lowered it as much as possible. I built some new pipes wrapped them in heat tape. I scratchbuilt a new seat. The paint is Testors laquer Dark Cherry Pearl. I used a skull from the parts box for the tailights. I wanted a clean low look.
  12. I started this car along time ago and finally finished it up. Revell kit with some added detail. I replaced the kit springs, scratchbuilt some shocks, re-routed the exhaust, and detail painted the chassis. I used different shades of black in the interior, flocked the carpet, used bmf for the detail and added a steering wheel from MCG. Paint is Sublime Green and Black with Decals from Revells Chevelle kit. Wheels and tires are from a Monogram Corvette.
  13. Finished this up this weekend. Pretty much out of the box. Paint is Tamiya black with pearl clear.
  14. It is painted. It has 4 coats of Tamiya Mica blue over a black basecoat, and about 6 coats of clear.
  15. Nice paint....good color choice and nice and smooth!
  16. I really like the paint and interior.
  17. Heres a couple more shots.
  18. Here is my version of Revells Deals Wheels Camaro. The rear wheels and tires, the blower and the wheelie wheels are all from a Hot Wheels 1/18 scale diecast. I added an injector and scoop from Comp Resins in 1/16 scale, and the parachute is a 1/12 scale resin piece I had laying around. The front wheels and tires are from Revells 1/25 scale Firebird. The paint is Tamiya chrome yellow with pearl clear. I had a ton of fun with this kit even though it had some flash and was molded in an awful orange plastic. th kit wheels and tires are awful. My goal here was to make the model look closer to the Deal drawing.
  19. fantastic!! Every inch of this thing is hot!! Great look ,great detail!! WOW!!!
  20. Thanks from everyone on the positive comments about the build. To answer the questions: I will be replicating the graphics of the real car. I have contacted Bullring Graphics about printing these up. The fenders are wide enough to cover the wide tires, these are not the exact wheels that I will use, but unless I find an exact match to the real wheel I will use something similar , as to my customers wishes. I will be duplicating the real cars interior as much as I can see in the pics. Including the roll cage, dash modifications seats etc. I also have started on the engine as well, I am kit bashing the injection system. I will post pics as soon as it progresses.
  21. My comments were not meant to be of a negative nature. I was really just trying to explain the work that was required to get to where I was. If it seemed that way then I am sorry. I am no stranger to resin, when quality is found I make comments about that as well. Check my thread about the bugZapper funny car in drag racing.
  22. Here is a little project I started awhile back. Its the BugZapper from Modelmartin. I did very little work to this resin body it was cast nearly flawless. Awsome casting skills are very evident here. It was painted with DupliColor metal speck red and the kit decals were applied. The carbon fiber on the wing is from Scale Motor Sports. The tires are resin and come with the kit. I am using a Revell funny car for the chassis.
  23. I have been working on this car for some time now. My customer wants a duplicate of the 2003 Heritage Camaro, the real thing can be seen here. http://www.2002firehawk-c26.net/HeritageFBody.html My customer purchased the body from a resin manufacture that I will not name here, but it was awful. It is a widebody Camaro that has all the features of the real Camaro being replicated but it had so many problems it was almost unusable. I used the Revell 35th Anniverserary Camaro kit as a donor. I had to remove the resin bodies roof and splice the the roof and A pillars from the Revell kit because the A pillars had so much extra resin molded in, that there was no way the winshield could fit. The hood was way to thick to be usable, so I cut the cowl hood scoop out and blended it into the kit hood. The front of the car was also to thick so I had to remove a section of the nose from the turn signals up so that the headlight buckets would fit . The rear spoiler required tons of fitting and sanding in order for it to fit. I don't mean to bash anybody, thats why I won't mentioned who cast this body, but I am glad my money didn't go to this caster. Any way here are some pics of where I am now. It took tons of work to get this far and it needs tons more. Decals are to be custom made.
  24. Does anybody make these wheels in 1/24 or 1/25? http://www.2002firehawk-c26.net/HeritageFB...ageCamaro32.JPG
