  1. I cut the rims myself. easy job- just cut out the plastic from every other hole and even it out. I think they "somewhat" resemble the old cragar deep dish rim. Not functional on a rig, but I like 'em. As far as the rack, just some aluminum grating found at Home Depot and some H channel. Thanks for looking. Jerry
  2. to start with..... more later.... Jerry

  8. looks good so far. I see you mated the gmc general frame to the pete. The tanks gave it away. Still, I think you off to a good start. Looking forward to seeing more pics. Jerry

  10. for that kind of money, I'll just grab an ertl Aerodyne and chop the roof.(which I've been thinking about doing anyhow) The dump trailer I've built before and wasn't too impressed with it. Jerry
  11. check this out--- http://cgi.ebay.com/RESIN-FREIGHTLINER-POW...1QQcmdZViewItem I'm not that rich or hungry to pay THAT kind of $$$$$$ although I wouldn't mind having it. Jerry
  12. This is just something thrown together since I cut the Aerodyne sleeper to use on an Astro cab (what I call an Astrodyne). I know that certain things are not done "correctly" as the real truck is, but sometimes I just lack patience to research and scratchbuild.  My trucks may not look as good as a lot of others, but I'm not worried--i enjoy building them. Thanks for lookin' and the comments. Jerry
  13. looking good so far. I haven't gotten to that stage of scratchbuilding OR patience yet. Jerry
  14. I'll call it done for now...... :? with the trailer... thanks for lookin' :? Jerry
  15. the truck used to be an Aerodyne, and the seats came with the kit. Jerry
  16. pretty much everything is from the Aerodyne, including the Detroit with Automatic tranny, rear suspension and axles came from an Autocar. I've had the truck for about 10-15 years and decided on repairing it since the hurricane did some damage to it. I had an extra Astro cab and now you see the results. btw, I do have a V16 from the payhauler and the engine from the cat dozer waiting to be used.     Thanks for all the comments. Jerry
  17. almost done.... Jerry
  18. still a wip.... and thanks for looking. Jerry
  19. Decided to take an Astro cab and mate it to an old Aerodyne and make the KW a daycab. Here's a look at the cabs. This will be ongoing, as I have to find a chassis for the Astro.  Jerry
  20. the sleeper is a stretched mercury from the road boss/reo kit, the headlights and stacks are from an amt pete 359 with the mounts cut off, air cleaner from italeri kit-(i think the western star) mounted horizonally, and front tires from the good ol' paystar. other than that, you are correct.  Jerry
  21. thanks Ray, see "purple shake & bake" for pics. Jerry
