  1. Thanks seeker. Trust me Im learning alot as well even though I have been modeling. Auto modeling has improved alot in the last 20 or so years especially the detailing and the paint finish area. Im glad to be here.
  2. Hi android. Thanks for the comment and yes it is indeed firey orange. I like that line of paint. Its nice to spray a pint of that quality right out of the can. Thanks again!
  3. Once again, another beauty. I am always inspired by your builds and to be honest it had alot to do with me coming back to building autos after a 15 year armor building spree. Keep 'em coming.
  4. Hello all. been modeling for 30 or so years but for the last 15 or so I have been building Armor and a Monster kit thrown in here or there. I started out as a 8 years old building cars. I decided I need a break from armor, and after checking out a copy of the mag and the forum was hooked on cars again. This is my car in 15 years. I still have some touching up to do in the engine compartment and some other areas but its getting there. I plan on doing fuel lines and water hoses etc. I am working on a few vintage NASCAR models now as well. Im glad to be here and am blown away by the work you guys do. Thanks for the inspiration!
  5. Excellent job. Paint is sweet. I like the treatment you did on the sheet metal in front grille.
  6. Looks great. Body work and vents came super clean. What did you use to wrap the roll bars with?
  7. Nice job. Excellent close up photos. I have a pretty nice camera and cant get nice shots like that. I think its my lighting.
  8. Yes they were sold out. It looks like they arent getting any anytime soon either. Thanks anyways.
  9. Thanks Ken. Much appreciated
  10. I realize the interiors were pretty bare bones on the 1970s cars but still am looking for some reference pics particularly to 1973-77 era Chevys. Any help would be appreciated. Im getting ready to start a #11 1974 Carling car.
  11. I realize this is an old post but was wondering if you still go to this shop. Do you know they mail stuff out? Im up in New England and its hard to find older kits around here and I dont deal with evilbay. Thanks!
  12. I glad to hear they are reliable. They have a pretty good selection of decals. Thanks again.
  13. Thanks dwc. This didnt come up on my web search. I appreciate it.
  14. I make my own coil springs by wrapping floral wire around a round piece of sprue tree that model parts come on. You can use paint brush handles etc as well.
  15. I have been a machinist for many years and use WD-40 to clean out my files. Spray it on or soak the file in it. It works excellent. Anthony
  16. I just got the Model King Saturday Night Thunder Kit and am looking for the decal set for Bobbys #12 Chevelle Coke car. I know a set was made and I did some looking but came up with nothing. Anyone have a set they want to sell/trade or know where I can buy a set. I dont do evilbay. Thanks for any help. Anthony.
  17. Looking good already. I like the molding idea. Keep pics coming.
  18. Thanks so much Donn. I wasnt sure what to wash it off with. Thanks for all the other replies as well!
  19. I always liked Terry. I like the black better than the more common green. How long did he drive this scheme? I dont remember it that well. Was it a variation for certain tracks?
  20. I always liked this car and you have done it justice! Nice build.
  21. Hello all. Just got back into cars after a 15 year stretch of building mostly armor and monster models. I painted a Subaru WRX with Tamiya lacquer paint. After my coats of paint I used novus step 1 on the finish. I was wondering if I can now clear over the Novus. I dont think its silicone based so I dont think it should be a problem but want to be sure. The paint has been curing for almost a month now. Thanks for any help. Anthony.
  22. Hello all. I am from Rhode Island and am looking to either join or form a club in RI. Even if a few guys want to get together one or two times a month and build. Doesn't have to be a full scale club. I have been modeling for about 30 or so years. Spent the past 15 or so concentrating on armor but have recently got back into cars. I live in Cranston. PM me or reply here. Thanks.
  23. Thanks so much for the tips Dr. I enjoy the vids and they help me quite a bit. Anthony.
  24. Nice Job! I'm working on it as well. Really nice kit.
