it is going take 2 different size hinges,...I have some Bamboo Squewers from the dollar store and taped 2 inside the body from fender to fender too help take stress off the rocker and help keep the opening straight ,...and I will tighten up the opening,..I was waitng for a Tamiya Scribing tool to see how it works but I just used the backside of a blade and I'm just going to have to deal with the opening cause the blade width and not being to hold it perfect in every pass,..and it's funny how fitting the door can get out of hand in a hurry if you don't remember to work with just 2 of the 4 sides of the opening,I'm with you on working the front of the door edge(hinged end ) and hopefully the openend will follow, Jeff Thanks for the Heads Up on what not to do ,but that is a nice car anyway...if you get tired of looking at those doors I could find room for it ,...I'll be back after I done some more Homework, Thanks, Barry Beachum -

It takes about 1/2 hr per door,..the tape on the door is so I can be lazy and drag the knife across the tape and it falls in the DA GROOVE,..I think the index card will work but we will make it a LOOSE card,..when I was scribing the roof line of the door I held the knfe at a compound 45 so the roof is at a 45 when it's cut through, I think it might help in the dressing of the opening and the tops of the doors will have a 45 are better,I taped the tub and frame in the body for xtra support,...I think it will be fun building this opening,...I could be wrong,...I'm a rookie at this,...I got side tracked by a 1/12 Power Tour Camaro build ,..I had to stop everything so I could try to get a LOOK while it was in my head. Thanks, Barry Beachum -

Week or less,...I've been looking at your build step by step and studying since you started, I'm hoping the same will work here there is no real weight issue,It's just larger and easier to see and making more eye appealing ,I'm trying to use just 1 body,.. test myself,..sucker for pressure,.. Barry Beachum I guess I could be aka The Plastic Punisher -
How about cutting the doors on this 1/12 Vette?..I will not build it right away but if you care to show and or tell me I could do it to show a different scale to your veiwers,I realize how far the door runs into the roof and the contours of the frt of the rear fender,..but I thought it might be fun for variaty,...the 57 is coming along Barry Beachum

B.Beachum replied to B.Beachum's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I 've stripped the chrome(used your trick Bill with Windex) ,body has primer but might need a light 1 some small stuff around the headlights Ive been working on but the chrome fits good ,I can just scratch away some primer in the recessed area where the chrome goes for gluing? ,the top of 1 the rear fin chrome is bowed alittle,..and the points that are at the very end of the front fenders does not follow the fender it points straight and the fender actually rolls inward towards the grill ,I will work through it, got this far whith your help, Thanks, Barry Beachum -
1 was a 66 Super Sport with a 283 w/auto and the other was a 67 with a 6 250 w/auto,...both were Marina Blue and the 67 had a white top,I saw the 1/64 Hot Wheels the other day and made me think back,.. Thanks for the pics, Barry Beachum

That can give me some ideas on the Chrome attachment on a 1/12 57, the Chrome is alittle distorted ,couple pieces bowed up at the ends, Is it best to drill holes in the chrome and put pins in them and drill holes in the body for them to go through and then bend down the ends and glue inside the body?...is there a better way? Any help from anybody is Appreciated, Thanks, Barry Beachum

I lean towards the Billet rims,...do you have a painting service ?say if some one was to do the prep and send you the item for a couple weeks while you work your magic...and $ is right,....I like your flame style,..I like them when they cross each other,..Ghost flames are nice too ,do you do those ?,... Excellent job. Barry Beachum -
I'm building this to go with the '57,..it's a couple 1/12 kits 1 being white metal,...I was missing the Waterpump to the 57 and the Cylinder head was Warped ,hahaha,...destorted,..and making the intake the wife got mad,...found a 1/12 57 chevy on ebay and ripped it from some poor sole in the last 10 seconds,..so now I have spare parts????....how about a 1957 Chevy HeadLight for the bike????
