  1. Except for the bitching, of course! We are all humans! There would be something terribly wrong if we were not bitching about something. I find it humorous that you relax with Mr. O'reilly who is a master of bitching about what he dislikes! This is meant to be humorous. Please don't bitch about it. Andy Martin
  2. Who said NNL shows are supposed to be non-competitive? or competitive? I have been around NNLs since the beginning and except for maybe the first two ever held there was always a vote for best theme, best in show, etc. The main idea initially was that there were to be no rules! That would include a rule that there be no awards! The only differences is that some shows have more awards and some have less. I think the key thing is that NNLs are not intended to be judged shows and were intended to be social events with all manner of models on display and a "popularity contest" attached. I do not believe they were intended to be pure about anything. NNls can be whatever the people organizing and running them want them to be. Harry! Don't go hating on us NNLers!
  3. Datsun Cherry, Oulton Park, 1977. I love Google. Cool car, too. I love the little boxes made into racecars. Andy Martin
  4. Oh God! It's another Rothgeb. Don't do it Gregg! Seriously, though, It will be good to see you Jason. I can give you the dirt on your brother ! Andy Martin
  5. I will likely be there. Andy Martin
  6. Ok! Here's my latest idea. I don't need no stinking build-offs. How about we all show up at GSL in '09 and see who earns some hardware! Andy
  7. Evilone can't be real! This has got to be a put-on! This is too funny. If he is real he must be about 12 years old and his parents aren't monitoring his computer usage. Dude! I challenge you to a brass era touring car build-off! See if you can handle it! Here is what I am going to build. It's a 1910 Olds Limited Touring car. Those are 42" wheels and it it has an over 700 cubic inch inline six! Kan U handle it or are gonna hate on us brass car fiends? Andy Martin Old skool H8rs MCC
  8. Why on earth would I build a lowrider to impress someone who does nothing but post on this forum? About 500 posts since February!! Do you have any time to build with all of that posting going on? Do you have a job? A family? As far as I am concerned you can take your tough guy attitude and get lost! If you can adjust the attitude to that of a civilized person you would find us old haters to be very welcoming. You will figure it all out as you get older - just like we did! I have never built a lowrider or donk and likely never will because there are many, many other subjects I would prefer to build. It is the same reason I don't do scrapbooking - no interest in it! Here is the closest I have ever built to a Lowrider but it is backwards and uses a Renault F1 suspension and driveline. I suppose it doesn't qualify but it is all I have. Please consider this as my entry in the build-off or j**k-off or whatever this thing is. This isn't contest quality. It was just something fun that an old hater wanted to build. Andy Martin
  9. How about a Plymouth Superbird on 30" donks? Or maybe a Ferrari GTO? Andy
  10. I would venture that you get 1 Allison, 1 Corvair, 1 Supercharged Hemi, 1 Pontiac, 1 SBC and 1 T-bucket. The box-art does state that the diorama and items in the diorama are not included. That is confusing, too. I find it interesting that all of this AMT and Revell parts pack tooling still exists but no-one can quite figure out how to put them in production in a practical way so that people can buy the items that they want. Andy
  11. With really good hydraulics you could do the gasser and the lowrider!! Just swap the round things out! Andy
  12. Yay! Now I can toss out that Ebay purchased gluebomb I was thinking of restoring. Or maybe make that one into the Snake version. Andy
  13. It is good-looking box art but it will confuse people. The Corvair motor and blown hemi are on one sprue and the Chev and Pontiac are on another sprue. I want the t-bucket but I already have 3 Allisons from the ERTL parts pack and several of the other engines from the Blueprinter release of the parts packs. The Blueprinters were not plated. Will these new ones be plated? Great to see this out even if I personally don't need it. Andy
  14. Gregg, If the MCM rep can take the hit of me wearing one of your name tags, I will wear one! Andy Martin
  15. Waddya mean April Fools!!?? That looks just like something that American car companies would do. It probably focus-grouped really well! Andy
  16. Don't you wish! (the closet, that is!) Chaaa! I will be present at NNL East and various Friday night festivities if anyone can stand me being around.
  17. Very sad, stud muffin.
  18. No blue or green stuff for me! I don't have any brain cells to spare - already not firing on all synapses. I will likely be rucking some fudd wit youse guys! Yo! I pricelined and got La Quinta in Fairfield for $52. + 16.00 in taxes, etc. Andy Martin
  19. Yes, I will be there. I had a great time last year ans am looking forward to it. See you all there. Andy
  20. Mark, You can use any of those products. Essentially what they all do is to clean off the waxy surface of the casting. It has nothing to do with mold release as most people think. I do not use a mold release when I cast. A good and thorough wetsanding with 400 or 600 paper will help immensely also. Good luck on the Ornery Otto, Send me pics when you have it done. Andy Martin
  21. It is now aardvarkmodels.com It was aardvarkmodels.net Everything is back up and running including the handy-dandy Paypal shopping cart. I have a few new products coming very soon including the 1/12 300 Metzler tire conversion for the Revell Choppers. That will include everything to make the conversion. Thanks to all for your interest. aardvarkmodels.com Andy Martin Aardvark Models Modelmartin
  22. Henry Ford set up a plant for the Russians. Only problem being that GAZ (Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod) started production in 29 with Model As and the car in question looks more 27 T like in some details (Body) and Model A (Fenders) in others. I would have to say that it is a 29 GAZ.
  23. Competition resins has quite a few newer injectors and blowers in their line. They have a bagged 14-71 that looks great and several styles of carbon fiber hats. Andy
