This weekends Petit LeMans
Nick F40 replied to CAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Chris. A good amount for sure. Good GT2 competition and LMP1 and 2 are going to be good! Peugeot and Audi will be good but still GT1, COME ON?! I want to see the preview on Speed tomorrow I like the Raikkonen picture although it's spelled wrong -
Oh, that is kind of disappointing. At least the body will be very nice. A little too much though. I am too looking forward to this build and pics!
-
Nice ones, and yes please! That's a sweet pic Bill
-
thanks i'm not sure what you mean, this was a racing exhaust, it had a 4-2-1 header then stright pipe to the race muffler because they had noise regulations and that was the requirement.
-
Thank you all! I guess I'll have to put up copyrights for the photgrapher... Oh no, I would love to do a V8 Supercar! Ours is filtered..not sure though with all the cows and such...around us I thought that at first but it kind of changed my mind once I figured out what I kind of did wrong. You still got that Audi to do and I am starting mine You'll definetly see it Saturday and yes, mmmmmmm throttle bodies!
-
Thank you all for the comments Yeah I hear ya, but I do have to agree, when it's done, you forget all that you went through and it turns out great!
-
Me too and this would be interesting, good amount of boost!

Sweet man, and I respect Dale Jr. and VERY few other NASCAR drivers for THAT reason, Dale knows how to drive REAL racecars! And some of them do very well at the Rolex 24.

Should I quit modeling?

I agree and what you said actually is helping me! -
Thanks and I will have to say, most definetly! This kit went together so good and and detail is great, loved it, then of course, it IS a Tamiya I always loved these cars and had to build on, i'll just have to get used to the decals though! I am addicted though, I am switched for life! here's a close up of the interior and engine for those who missed or just want to see it again

Jose Madera Carlos De Jesus (one of my favorite builders) Daniel Gabriel Jimmy "Volkswagen" I've never seen such cleaner models and that Integra is off the hook!!

Well, this is my the Tamiya kit and my first race car kit. The decals gave me trouble as some would rip a bit coming off the backing paper but I improvised and did the best going through decal hell...for me! I have FULL respect for you guys that do those cars with the full body ones. Built box stock with the exception of the carbon fibre hood. I also cut out the grill insert at the bottom of the front bumper and personally think it's cooler because you can see the two air ducts. I was going to make a street car out of it but the paint came out decent and I thought the decals would look pretty cool...so I put them on. Lately, things have been screwing up a little with this one but thanks to you guys, you helped me love this thing some more! Gotta love Tamiya kits and paints. Either though I used Dupli Color for the body The paint is actually a funny story because the original paint was Avignon Blue but that got out of hand after I saw some panel lines that popped up after it was painted, either though I didn't see them when I sanded it! So it took a couple coats and sanded it until I got to primer and decide to recoat it with Ice Blue Metallic, and it almost matches but it turned out sweet. Enjoy! Touring Cars for life!

Thank you very much I appreciate it. This model has been giving me trouble lately but after seeing it some more completed, which you'll have to wait till tomorrow , I've been appreciating it more, also thanks fordsixty for giving me support about the decals and my creativity.

Well #1, glad to see you back at it, seriously watched this thread and glad it's back #2 Give me your friends number! #3 you suck, Supra? heck yeah, good runner and I always loved those styles and I could have got one, a guy was sellling one near my uncle and I see some for sale around here and the great Craigslist and you are lucky to have that and the Celica BUT I know where I can find a Celica Supra! The 7M engines were the good ones, other than the oil fetish and I see you have it apart...a true Supra owner! ITB IT!!!! No turbo

Good luck! I got to see one race at the local Hershey Hillclimb and Vintage Jefferson race at Summit Point, they are so cool!
-
Speaking of Touring Cars! not sure on make though
-
Wow Cruz, this sure looks amazing. The body is killer and perfect color, if I do say so myself
-
Well...it's a little late but yeah, it is a great kit! Decals sure are fun! It has been over a month now, sorry for the suspense on those who watched this, sorry. I got it finished yesterday and got it polished for tomorrow's photo shoot, so look out for it. Progress pics! The original PIAA hood decal got a little too hot when I tried the heat gun trick so I quickly got that off with tape and had to think of a new solution so here it is, my first REAL carbon fibre decal of this size on a hood and I must say, I am proud of how it turned out. if you want to see some cheater shots of the body and chassis, ask for the link, but if not, wait for tomorrow!

Is it normal for a 17 year old to also think this?
