  1. And here is one more of the same Superamerica, but build slightly different per it's owner's request. Kuddos to mattel for releasing the models with their subtle differences. 1957 FERRARI 410 Superamerica [1955-'59) - Mattel Elite
  2. Some truly special machines were early Superamericas. Those were the most exclusive of all Ferraris at the time and some of the most expensive cars in the world. They were all custom build for special customers and were basically the factory hot rods. FERRARI 410 Superamerica (1955-'590 - Mattel Elite

    Revell 49 merc

Very nice. If they remake the cobra movie with Silvester Stalone, they can use something looking like your Merc for it.
  4. Any Star Wars fans? This car could totally be Dart Vader's personal choice of transportation..... 1:18 LAMBORGHINI REVENTON Autoart
  5. Where everything began, back in 1947! Ferrari 125 S - Mattel Elite
  6. Here is a nice affordable model. A Maisto. This has been released many years ago, but it is still in their current catalog and in the months before Christmas can be found in Costco for under $15. For the money it is a great model. 1:18 MERCEDES-BENZ CLK GTR - Maisto
  7. Thank you Gary. Yes it is a Kyosho and all cars that I am about to show will be 1/18 scale.
  8. They had no choice but to miss it. The fuel filler door on the TR is up on the rear hood's side buttresses. On the real car the filler neck goes up in the hallow of the buttress, accessible through a circular door on the side, which makes opening the engine bay unnecessary. Making this detail on the kit would be nearly impossible and odd looking. And Atin actually has made it way low, as it should get up way above the plenum level.
  9. Thank you both guys.
  10. OK. No British supercar fans here........ How about German? MERCEDES-BENZ CLK DTM AMG - Kyosho
  11. How about a Legend? The beginning of a legendary name. The birth of a legendary motor. 1957 FERRARI 250 TESTA ROSSA - cmc
  12. You may want to look into something I just recently discovered at Hobby Lobby. They cary markers for painting Gundam robots in the model section. They come in sets or individually. There is Matt Clear one that comes only individually and is $5. Unlike the other ones, it's actually acrylic, so it would go over any other paint without attacking it. It works miracles. It lays really smooth and dries very flat, fast and even. This is what it looks like. It may be the perfect solution for your seats. It is what I use for my matt carbon fiber in my Huayra build.
  13. Nice to see more exotics being build. Your engine and interior look fantastic.
  14. This will be my second topic with everything other than Ferraris. Let's start with some British madness. A car not legal on the roads in US, but an absolute masterpiece of weird awesomeness. I don't remember the manufacturer, but it is 1:18 diecast, which I have repainted. TVR SAGARIS
  15. By the way, all models are 1:18 scale unless otherwise noted.
  16. FERRARI 375 PLUS - José Froilán González/Maurice Trintignant - Winner 1954 LeMans - BBR
  17. I am one of those rare hybrid collector/builder type of guys. I enjoy enormously building plastic model kits, but I take no lesser joy from collecting some good quality die cast models. And a lot of times I blend the two by modifying my diecast models to bring them up to desirable spec or quality. I will divide my collection in two topics. This one would be Ferrari only and the other one would be everything else. Let's start where Ferrari started. Winning at LeMans.
  18. The weekend following the ACME show, there is usually an IPMS show in Smyrna, TN too. It's not car model specific and it's not that big, but it's run by some great folk and has a decent vendor attendance.
  19. Very nice clean build. Great finish on it.
  20. Very cool. I love the buried-in-the-ground nose look. Great paint on it too. Is that Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red?
  21. Nice Benz. I love the real car and if I could afford it, I would buy one in a heart beat. I bought this kit as one of the Christmas presents for my kid. Unfortunately his interest in building models has all but disappeared. So I may steal it back from him and build it one day. Love the color on yours.
  22. Holly thread resurrection Batman !!!! ? This predates the C8.
  23. The colors suit the car very well. I love the white interior.
