  3. I have a rather large update, I was able to find a ford rear end in an old kit and get the 4 link done. I also started on the front suspension. I have never scratched build any suspension before, I hope it looks right. This is the last week before the show and have a lot to get done. Please enjoy and as always feed back if welcome. Here is my start to the front suspension: I used a A-arm from another kit as reference, just had to shorten it a little to fit under the fenders. My very first sratch built 4 link rear suspension: (I was able to do this with help from a lot of the post on here. Thanks fellas) Relly happy with the way it turnd out. It really works too. Now I'm just waiting to get my shocks in the mail. Thanks again for looking, feed back is always welcome.
  4. Does anyone know what size bolt heads I should get for 1/24 scale rear main boits. RB Motion has a large selection, but just not sure what size would look right. thanks
  5. Thanks for the complements, and the info on the parts. I was hoping to have the body in primer and a rolling chassis before my first show of the year on July 30th. not sure if I’m going to make it. lol
  6. Was able to get some work done this weekend on the frame. Here is what i started with: I wanted a more tubular moderan frame. I remove the x style braces and replaced with a fram style that I found on line. Here is what I came up with. Still have a little more work to finish shaping the rest of the frame and the on the front suspension. Thank you for looking and as alway feed back it welcome.
  7. Romell, I haven't been on here very long but I’m am always very inspired when i see the work and craftsmanship that you put into your models. this is the first time I have seen this post and had a question about the fame bracket for your fuel rails, how did you make those? Chris.
  8. Need help please... I'm looking for a nice ford rear end. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a kit or resin part that I could get. Going to be starting on the chassis and suspension this weekend
  9. Thanks for the info on the brass strip, I would have never thought about that. I have been able to get both doors open and hinged. i have everything ready for bondo and sanding on the body I have also stared the inside of the trunk. As Always, feed back is welcome. and again, Billy thanks for the help.
  10. I was wondering if i should only open one door since this is a convertible. The body is extremely flimsy with just one door open, and I don't want to mess up all my work so far. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  11. It will be a two tone of Orion Silver and Passion Pearl (Purple). Going to use a Gibson 427 Ford Sidewinder Engine.
  12. The Mesh was just some wire mesh that I had picked up at a local hobby shop and I sprayed it with Tamiya gold. Then took the clear plastic that came with the kit and pushed the mesh thru the holds in the hood and that gave the shape I needed. The side Markers had not been put on when I took the pics. I didn't know that the wheel nuts were different colors, that’s good to know for future builds. I just made these red because I built it as a custom.
  13. It was just Tamiya Black TS14, then cleared and polished.
  14. Completed this one over a year ago and it placed 2 in the import class At the Derby City Shootout in Louisville Ky last year.
  15. My kiddos bought this model for me a few years ago and I decided it was time to get it going. This will be the first street rod i have done. I plan on scratch building a 4 point rear suspension, and could probably use some help on how to scratch build a modern front suspension. I have already opened one door and still have the other to go. Will be suicide doors and flip nose hood. Also thinking about putting a fuel cell in the trunk, any suggestion or reference photos would be great. Thanks for looking and feedback is always welcome.
