  1. I have tried to get some stuff from Shucky awhile back but I am not sure he is still casting. I know there is another guy on another board, Dom87SS who makes KILLER drag radials and turbos. Might want to check with him.
  2. Great tips. Sadly most of the decals I have to print dont have white in them but there is a little here and there speckled in and of course, they are going to be a PITA to cut out. Ugh. LOL I guess I'll have to take my time and be careful. Thanks guys.
  3. Foxer... should I be printing on white or clear paper?
  4. Okay... so I have a set of decals I want to print on my ink jet at home. Any suggestions on how this should be done? Material I should use? Prep work prior to printing? Prep work prior to installing on the car? Thanks in advance. Mike
  5. Its actually doesnt look that bad. It almost just looks like its got grease on it but thats not the case no matter how much I rub, it wont come off. I'll try that Novus stuff. Thanks.
  6. Yeah really looking for the 95-99 styled Neons... got a friend that wants a model of his 4 cylinder stock car and its a Neon of course. Thanks for your help guys.
  7. I accidentally handled a windshield glass after working with some Bondo and didnt realize I had some residual on my fingers. Welp... it left my glass with some fogginess where I handled it. No Bondo on the glass just took a perfect hard to find piece of glass and hazed some areas of it. Is there anything I can do to bring it back to new? Thanks in advance for the help. Mike
  8. Does anyone know if there was ever a Dodge Neon kit or diecast made?
  9. Thats the sheen I want on the leather seats. Perfect. Now I need to go a slight bight shinier on the plastic dash, door panels, and center console. Did you use primer on that interior first?
  10. I gotta figure out how to recess the parking light area once I fill it in with Bondo. I dont want to cut them out from the back side and fill them in with plastic cause the shape is wrong as it starts way wide and then narrows are it heads back into the bumper (funnel effect) like a brake duct would. Also, it has factory chassis tabs to keep the body and chassis as one piece which I would like to keep. Sooooooo, I have to figure out how to fill those parking light ducts flush, then etch out the recessed areas so they resemble the 1:1 nose. Not sure if I am going to sand the top of this entire piece flat as the 1:1 nose cause the overall look (although 100% correct if I did that) would look "mismatched" and/or "unfinished." Please keep in mind this is just a chassis/body I have laying around. If this is something that someone wants to cast for resale, I will start over with a brand new piece which will most likely include a filled in grill area as well leaving you the choice of cutting it out in any shape you want or putting a decal over it. There are a couple areas on this nose I am on thrilled with so I guess you can say I am "working out the bugs" right now. I also started work on the rest of the body to make it more "street stock" like. I removed some material around the b pillar, a pillar, and door tops (passenger side only), shaved off the rear window tabs, rounded the wheel wells and opened them up more, and will start work on the rear bumper to better replicate the 1:1 Five Star Bodies styled street stock bumper cover as well as fill in the lower body lines forward the front wheel openings and add a new body line further up as a 1:1 Monte street stock would have it.
  11. I would take about 10 of em or so for now. I started work on my first attempt last night. Here is where I stand now...
  12. I am going to be doing a master of this style nose for Street Stock type Monte Carlo's. I was wondering once it was completed, would any resin casters interested in casting it? I will be filling in the headlights, grill, and lower parking lights while leaving a slight recessed look as seen here. I am also toying with the idea of reshaping it to be correct as everyone that is familiar with Street Stock Monte's knows, the hood lines do not carry into the front bumpers no matter who the manufacture is. No Idea why the heck they never figured out it was over looked. Also was toying with the idea of splitting it in half (left and right halves) as the real ones on the market are sold. Not sure if I can achieve the look of the two being separated. Just a thought... if interested, please let me know. Thanks.
  13. Sounds like a plan... was just gonna go with the spoon test but this might work.
  14. Awesome tutorial!!! Love it and it opens the possibilities. Now if I could just figure out how to make a damned turbo. LOL
  15. Awesome looking start!!! Love it.
  16. Yeah I think semi gloss black will be too shiny but was afraid that the matte clear would just make it flat. LOL I am aiming for a Firebird interior and most of the door panels, console, and dash are plastic and have a sheen to them but not gloss black and not flat. Might have to try to ton down the semi gloss with a matte clear. The seats... theyre leather so not so sure if I could just hit it with more matte clear to dull it more. I like the idea of interior trim paint but am worried about using it.
  17. Now I'm wondering if semi gloss black is going to be too shiny for leather seats and plastic dash / center console and what not. Hmmmmmm...
  18. Now stupid question... I am going to use Tamiya Semi Gloss Black on a chassis and leather interior and found a can of Testors Model Master White Primer laying around unused and was wondering if I could mix the two. I'm not thinking so since the Testors stuff says its an Enamel.
  19. What is everyone's recommendation: Would you use primer on parts you intend to paint semi gloss black?
  20. Its a 1994 Trans Am with Black leather interior. I figured to stay away from glossy paints but flat paint looks too dull as things like the dash, door panels, and leather seats have a minor sheen to them. Most definitely going to flock the carpet... first time doing it so this should be interesting. LOL
  21. Hey guys... I am doing a build based on a friends 1:1 car and was wondering in terms of interior paint, what types of finished are people liking these days for things like plastic interior trim panels, dash boards, and leather? I mean in terms of semi-gloss, gloss, flat etc. Thanks in advance for the help and advice. Mike
  22. Aren't they like 5 million dollars for those kits though?
  23. I'd like to see a Suburban of that time period!
