  1. The weird thing is about the 65 lights... in the end with the treatment I gave em, they kinda have a 74ish Chevelle Malibu look to em. LOL
  2. I can see what your saying but the actually taillights are different from those of a Corvair and we featured on the 71-74 Chevelle Malibu's. See Corvair taillights were protruding and the Chevelle Malibu's were just the opposite. I toyed with ovaling them out buuuuuuuuuuuuuut... then they look way to much like a current Vette with 4 of em. I personally like the 70 taillights widened and possibly shortened. Think it gives it a uniquely Chevelle Malibu modern look without being to "weird" is that makes sense. LOL Oh and if I forgot to mention it before... most definitely the square or more rectangularish exhaust tips!!!
  3. I like the look of the 4 taillights as the 71-73 Chevelle Malibu's had 4 taillights but were round. The 64-68 taillights maintained a dual look and for the most part, rectangle shape from 66-68 and once again on the 70 model and squarish shape from 64-65 which was brought back with a modern twist on the 69 model year. All the Chevelle Malibu's retained 4 headlights until 1971 when they went with a dual headlight setup and that was also the first year they went with 4 taillights. In 1974 they ended up with a very defined rectangle shape and they stayed that way til the day they killed the big bodied Chevelle Malibu in 1978 going with the smaller Malibu's which remained deep into the 80's. If your trying to take styling cues from several years of Chevelle Malibu, then the 4 taillight setup works awesome with the 4 headlight setup and balances the front and rear of the car nicely. The only thing I am against here, is the use of the Camaro taillights as it is indicative to the Camaro itself and shouldnt be shared with another GM muscle car especially from the same family. Just my opinion. Maybe shorten and lengthen the taillights to more resemble the 68ish style of go more rounded like the 71-73. I jus think that parts were not lent from one car to another back then (Camaro parts on a Chevelle Malibu) but know that there is some parts that have crossed over here on this build but something like the tail and headlights should be left specific to each model. Either way.... I love this build!!! Awesome work. Here's a good link to view the different styles through the years. http://www.yogisinc....cat/cat2882.htm I seen Psychographic helped you out with a little Photoshop action so I figured I jump in this pool. Whaddya think? 1971-72 Taillights 1970 taillights widened 1965 taillights with the inner one just a duplicate of the outter one mirrored. 1970 taillights shortened and stretched the outters. The inners shortened and removed the reverse lights as well as mirrored them from the outters. .
  4. I think the squared up exhaust tips look good actually. If you remember the 70 Chevelles had rectangular-ish exhaust tips so I think these fit nicely. The only thing I might suggest is just shaving them so the follow the upward angle of the lower roll pan but other than that... awesome stuff!!!
  5. That resin body is most likely stretched 16 scale inches as well like the car I crew chief for which is wrapped in a Hairy Glass 1995 ZR1 Chevrolet Corvette body.
  6. Amazing looking. I'll be following this one from here on out.
  7. Nice looking build. Always wanted to build a 68 300 Delux. This just might be the motivation I need.
  8. I stand corrected. Guess he finished out his career in that car but only made a handful of races over the next 2ish years before he retired.
  9. I dont believe Glidden ever raced that t-bird. In 1988 Ford had him in a Probe and I believe he stayed in one til his heart attack in 1994.
  10. Hey guys... I was wondering if there is a good place to view some current serious drag racing engines sporting turbo and/or Pro Charger/Vortech blower styled (Centrifugal) forced induction. Planning out a wicked Pro Outlaw styled build in the future and just trying to get things laid out in advance. Thanks for the help in advance. Mike
  11. I bent all of the rod on this cage by cold bending and then using MEK to weld it in place right away. Worked great. Larger tube if you use a candle and apply just a small amount of heat you should have no problems.
  12. Ahhhhhhhh... never noticed the difference on those motors. Thanks again. LOL... I was just drooling over your blue pro mod Camaro. WOW! At first I was like, "yeah I can do this"... by the end of the thing I was like, "yeah right!" LOL
  13. Awesome looking build there! Truly amazing very very nice work.
  14. Thats what I thought. So I should be able to get away with the lesser priced Monogram kit cause the price of those 25th Aniversary cars is just stooooopid! LOL
  15. Thats pretty trick on that top idea there man. Love it and am going to have to give it a shot man. Thanks a ton for the inspiration. Is there a reason you prefer the 55 chassis over the 57? Aren't they the same? I'll send you a PM on those bodies... Thanks a million for giving me a couple hours of entertainment going through all the amazing builds in your Photobucket account! LOL You got some amazing skills man!!! Nice work on everything.
  16. Anyone that owned a Beretta will remember they had a really oddly shaped rear window. It almost curved in on itself as it met the trunk lid. I think the only real way to duplicate that Riverside car would be to widen and stretch a Revell Pro Street kit then modify the sides a bit to more represent what was in that pic. I think it could be done and would make a good master for someone to cast. If it was made right, the Lumina kits could be donor chassis. Would be killer, I'd buy one or 5. LOL
  17. Yeah the front windshield looks to have some over abundance of black outline. As far as the marker lights, thats fine with me. The 1:1 car has all the marker lights blacked out. LOL Just want to try and make this as close to his 1:1 car since its a gift from his girlfriend. Thanks again for the input.
  18. Thanks guys... thats what I was thinking.
  19. Awesome work on this Nova Tyrone. If I may I have a question or two. First... do you happen to have any spare 55 or 57 Chevy bodies from those sportsman kits you no longer want? I have an idea for one I would like to try out. Second... what is your secret to that vinyl top??? I see the quarter trim but what about the seams on the top and the texture? What kind of paint did you use there? Lastly... how did you get the trunk and doors cut out? Panel schriber or some other method? Thanks in advance.
  20. Can someone tell me if there is a difference really between these kits and which is the better more detailed one? I know that Revell and Monogram merged and essentially used the same molds and tooling later on in life but I was wondering about AMT. I know they're all 1/25th scale but was wondering about fit and finish and of course detail. AMT / Ertl 1997 Pontiac Trans Am http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-ERTL-199...item1c2848011c Revell 1994 Pontiac Trans Am 25th Anniversary http://www.ebay.com/itm/revell-1-25-...item53ecfa4807 Mongram 1993 Trans Am http://www.ebay.com/itm/Monogram-199...item19d14dc231
  21. Yeah I've seen em for the 98 and up but wont work for the 94's. Might have to try my hand at making it. Shouldnt be too hard since its flat on top.
  22. I am building a replica of a friends car for him. Its a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am which is perfect cause Revell has their 25th Anniversary 1994 Pontiac Trans Am kit. Only problem is, I need a ram air styled hood. Any ideas if there area any resin cast ram air styled hoods out there for this thing?
  23. Thanks for all your info. Is there a website somewhere that I can locate those valve covers???
  24. Awesome looking build! You nailed it. Actually when you have a larger tire as the pro stocks do, the slicks will have a slight "wrinkle" to the them even standing still. Its not as exagerated as when they lunch and has a lot to do with how low some of teams run their air pressure. On most drag slicks, a wrinkle on lunch should come up to about the 1o o'clock position of the tire. I think everything looks great! Where on earth did you get those rims and carburators from???
  25. Went with real on this one for several reasons. Time will tell.
