  1. More Please! love the look of this one! and the fat white walls
  2. Took some time but added BMF! first time using it and I love it! My next post for this baby will be in the glass section!
  3. Wow thanks for the comments and help on where to find the parts I need! I think I will be looking for the 66 Malibu Flipnose kit, hopefully I can find it for a bargain! funny thing is I had one of these when I was like 12 and ruined it like kids do, lol Well I now have paint and clear on the monte. Now its the waiting game for it to cure so I can wet sand the heck out of it and buff it to death. Now looking for a black mirror finish. Did I mention I hate painting black, so much work to make it look good. But when done right black looks amazing. on with the eye candy!
  4. Its now in primer! Tonight it will get a light sanding and hopefully get more paint tomorrow. Man more bodywork then I bargained for. The fit on this body was not that great but I made it work. Anyone know where I can find a 454? I'm sure someone makes a resin just not sure where to look? also need some centerline rims. Anyway on with the pictures
  5. I think that was a Grand National or an GNX but I'm not sure. I do love the look of that car though with the nascar wheels! I'm going for more of a drag car look. Thanks for the comments on the hood, not sure what motor will be going in it or wheels yet. I'm working on the body first and if it comes out exactly how I want it then I will invest some time in finding it better wheels and select a motor.
  6. So thanks to SoCalMark's tutorial in the tips and tricks section, I was able to get my cowl hood done tonight! I went out to my local hobby shop and bought some supplies, came home and got to work. Its my fist scratch built item and I think it turned out great. Still have to do a little final sanding and filler touch ups and add a middle trim piece that will run down the middle of the hood. More updates soon!
  7. Sweetness, post some pictures here if you like. I would love to see what you have done!
  8. This one has been sitting in the box for about eight years or so. Its going to be my next build Might be a curbside build depending on how much trouble the cowl hood gives me. Plans: scratch built cowl hood, semi gloss black paint, drag radials and maybe some other goodies tonight was just a mock up and trying to get a feel for how the hood will look. Now I have to get to sanding and body work. Gotta find me some styrene to cut up!
  9. Love your builds Dr Cranky! your videos are always so inspirational and helpful! I think my next build will be a rusty one. it looks like you have so much fun with them!
  10. Please excuse the crappy cell phone progress pics but I wanted to show what I've done today! vinyl top painted (found a great tutorial on this site that helped a a lot!!) wet sanded, scratch remover applied, and multiple coats of wax! The new lower stance I'm going for! The rear, I painted the spot in between the trunk and bumper flat black, looks way better IMO And one more picture for good measure! A couple things I'm learning from this build 1. how important prep work is (while masking a little bit of paint flaked off. was able to fix it though) 2. use a better brand of masking paint 3. pre fit the motor before I paint the body I will post more pictures once I get the BMF done. Anyone have a preference on what to use for BMF? A good place to buy it? Thanks for the comments guys, love this site and the good attitude of this site keep me reading and coming back!
  11. Alright, so I'm posting here to give myself a reminder that I have to finish this model so I can move on. I bought sandpaper, compound, and wax to finish the paint job on this one. I'm thinking of adding a vinyl top and some BMF (this will be my first attempt at BMF so wish me luck!) I'm also thinking about lowering it more and putting wider white walls on it. I've had a little trouble fitting the engine in due to the distributor wires I added so a little grinding of the firewall may be in order to make it all fit. Here we go! more pictures to come before the weekend is out!
  12. Where is the drool button on this fourm! Love the wheels, can't wait to see more of the details! This may have to by my next kit. I'll be watching this build!
  13. wow really nice build. I really like this kit too!
  14. This one made the trek with me across canada when I moved. Still have a couple things to finish up. Been thinking about weathering it and rusting it out. Custom grill and mexican seat blanket (made out of a napkin I colored) are my fav parts of this gem. more on that at a later date... holes in the rear quarter are for custom exhaust that I haven't finished yet.
  15. This puppy was modeled after my ex's bronco. Always loved that hunk of junk!
  16. First model in a while, just getting back into it! on with the pics
