  1. "Don't drive no big black car. Don't like no Hollywood movie star"...
  2. Correct title, but I was thinking of Buffalo Springfield. Buffalo Springfield, For What It's Worth.
  3. "Life is bringing you so down, you don't think you can make it. Every night is a show down. Every day you just fake it."
  4. Seals and Crofts, Summer Breeze.
  5. I'd make them replay the game. Disqualifiication seems a little harsh. And besides, that would put the Colts in a weird spot of being in the Super Bowl without having actually won the AFCd would throw off the whole Super Bowl. And I don't think the Colts would want to have the game handed to them, anyway. Better to just replay the game and see where it goes. But you're right, nothing like that will be done.
  6. "When the dream came I held my breath with my eyes closed"...
  7. Here's the story. The balls are checked for pressure and size and weight two hours before the game. Each team uses their own balls, they are allotted 12 balls each. Once the balls are checked and approved they are locked away until just before game time, when each team is given their balls. So somewhere between when the Pats got their "ok" balls and the game, someone on the Pats deflated 11 of them (why not all 12? Who knows).... Did the softer balls make it easier for Brady to throw them? Easier for the Patriot receivers to catch them? Obviously. That's why they did it. Did the softer balls actually have any effect on the final score? Impossible to say. Did the Patriots cheat? Yes. They knowingly and intentionally broke a game rule. It's not a matter of how unimportant a rule, or how unimportant the result, or even if there was any result at all. The bottom line is they cheated. And they have a proven history of cheating. If I was the King of the NFL I would erase that game, throw out all the stats, and make the Patriots and Colts replay the game.
  8. Are you nitpicking about the schedule of nitpicking threads?
  9. It's an old, old song, It's been covered by hundreds of people, nobody actually knows who wrote it. The version by the Animals was by far the most popular and recognizable version.
  10. The Animals, House of the Rising Sun.
  11. But seriously... what is that supposed to be?
  12. "Here come a flat top, he was movin' up with me"...
  13. "I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become"...
  14. What in the world is that supposed to be?
  15. "Oh, I used to be disgusted. Now I try to be amused"...
  16. Jethro Tull, Living in the Past.
  17. No on the Packard, I have a partially built '33 Cadillac that I started like 20 years ago and put away... never finished it, I lost interest because it was so visually boring... black engine, black chassis, black body, black interior. I prefer cars with more visual interest.
  18. No.
  19. Yeah, they do need a little TLC to make them look presentable.
  20. A few more...
  21. This is the 1/16 Minicraft (or should I say "miniCRAP") version of the 1936 Mercedes 540K. A bad kit with tons of flash, sink marks, mold misalignment, etc. This one was tough to build, even tougher to make look halfway decent. I drilled out the gauges and made my own by photoreducing gauge faces I found online, made bezels out of aluminum tube, added real wood trim to the door panels and dash, "chromed" the wheels with Spaz Stix "Mirror Chrome," added the whitewalls with acrylic craft paint, replaced the kit's out-of-scale thick glass with Lexan, added a bunch of missing underhood detail, added photoreduced license plates, and just generally tried to finesse this kit to make it look good. Paint is Krylon "Short Cuts" Red Pepper and Future clear. As usual, a WIP here if you're interested.
  22. Despite Skip's best efforts, I went with the kit pieces on the hood panels and skipped the "real" mesh. Coming soon to Under Glass...
  23. The only problem is it's in Ukraine, not Russia... But going by "eyeball engineering" it looks like the mesh scales out just about perfectly. The drawback is shipping time is estimated 15-30 days.
  24. Skip, I did find some appropriate mesh on ebay. I might get this... http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACE-s001-Photo-etched-Straight-mesh-cell-0-5-0-5mm-/251785279701?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3a9f9278d5
