  1. Please post questions in the Question and Answer section.
  2. I agree! Makes as much sense as having a woodworking section here. I have no idea why we have it.
  3. You need to use a sharp, new blade when you trim the foil. Looks like you're using a dull blade and tearing the foil. The weight of the knife alone (with maybe some very light pressure) should be enough to cut through the foil if the blade is sharp. If you're not getting clean, smooth cuts, that's a sure sign your blade isn't sharp enough.
  4. If those are molded-in seat belts, you might want to paint them red (or another color) and pick out the buckles and hardware with silver. Also, looks like you used string for some of the braided lines. There are much better and more realistic options out there... but at least I'd paint those lines silver (or black, or whatever color they are on the real car).
  5. I don't see why we have a "Gamers" area, either.
  6. I think the functionality of the search engine is embedded in the forum software and is out of our control. I think. Dave Ambrose would know for sure, and I know that he is just as frustrated with this software as anyone, given the constant site crashes and SQL errors and all the rest of it.
  7. Nothing about an online modeling forum should ever be exasperating! (Unless you're a mod, of course!). Just ignore the stuff that exasperates you! If someone is asking what's the best glue to use, either just answer the question, or ignore it and let someone else answer. Why let anything here bug you? It's a hobby... we're here to have fun, remember?
  8. That's a very ambitious project! I'd suggest you get a Photobucket account and create some photo albums there... maybe one for each manufacturer? A photo hosting site is the best way to arrange and store your images... and they will be available for others to see.
  9. That's cool! But I'd definitely fill those holes in the firewall with a couple of reinforcing rods between the firewall and the radiator.
  10. I think we'll keep questions and tips separated. If I'm a new guy and I have a specific question I need answered, it's much easier for me to post my question and wait for the answer instead of looking through dozens of existing questions, trying to see if someone already asked/answered my question. Yeah, the new guy's question may have already been asked and answered previously, maybe more than once. But I think that no mater how many times a question gets asked, there will always be someone willing to jump in and answer it. And IMO, keeping the questions apart from the tips just makes things easier in the long run. Maybe it's a fine point, but I think it's valid.
  11. And every "solution" creates a new problem. In your system, where do I ask about the availability of a certain set of specific tires I might be looking for? It's not really "fitting and gluing," not really "painting, decalling and weathering," certainly not "photography"... No matter how you arrange things, one can always find faults.
  12. You must not find it that pathetic or that funny because you just kept it going by posting a comment.
  13. New people keep coming into the hobby, so the same questions will continue to get asked time and again. I see no problem with that. Sure, a lot of us already know the answers to a lot of the questions being asked, but if you're a new member or new to the hobby and you come here asking a specific question, I think it's better if we answer that question (yeah, maybe for the umpteenth time) than to "help" a person by saying "Do a google search and look it up yourself."
  14. Very nice! Your pencil technique is great, I like it.
  15. Hi Bill, welcome aboard. But for future members, feel free to start your own thread.
  16. My instincts tell me that questions should stay in a separate section, tips and tricks in another.
  17. Or quickly, depending on how often you eat it!
  18. Can't you just lock the kids in the basement?
  19. Seems like the parts that Fred posted the link to would be the easiest way to go.
  20. I guess you could always "reintroduce" yourself!
  21. Check out the nearest dollar store. They have all kinds of resealable containers and bins for dirt-cheap prices. And you don't have to first buy KFC to get them!
  22. Call the section "Modeling How-Tos?" "Scale School?"
  23. It always made sense to me to have questions and tips as separate items... but maybe not. So if we combine them into one "Modeling Questions, Tips, Tricks and Tutorials" section, what do we call that forum section? Same thing? Or something like "Modeling Help" or "How To Do It" or something?
  24. And steal their lunch money...
  25. Welcome aboard. Tell us a little about yourself.
