  1. I think they all good good. And I know this is not the right place to say this, but I like the plane best of all!
  2. Hey! Watch that gratuitous use of bandwith-hogging emoticons!
  3. What are the hood straps made of? Same question on the hood handles. And how did you form them? Freehand filing to shape or something else?
  4. (insert emoticon denoting irony here)...
  5. OK, now you're just being belligerent! (insert smiling emoticon that saves mucho bandwich here)...
  6. This is the first I've heard of it. Suddenly Danno's "insert emoticon here" schtick makes sense!
  7. Sorry... I must have missed your appointment as the guy in charge of deciding what user names other members can use.
  8. Around here, when the temps get down to the 30s is when most of us think about maybe throwing on a jacket...
  9. I don't remember seeing any rule about posting emoticons.
  10. 39 degrees is "cold?" That's funny right there...
  11. Where did that global warming go???
  12. No doubt that goes on. The whole trick with ebay is not to get carried away and wind up paying way more than you thought you would. Like Bill says, patience. If the kit you really want is already bid up higher than you're willing to go, you can be sure the same kit will be up for sale again... and again...
  13. Walmart doesn't sell kits.
  14. From Wikipedia: The AN thread is a particular type of fitting used to connect flexible hoses and rigid metal tubing that carry fluid. It is a US military-derived specification that dates back to World War II and stems from a joint standard agreed upon by the Army and Navy, hence AN.
  15. Actually, Jon, there's been a change of plans. From now on you're in charge of the pee-pee lab.
  16. Wow! I've paid less than that for a Pocher model!
  17. It's the same old story: an item is "worth" whatever a buyer is willing to pay for it.
  18. I hope you're kidding, becaue I've explained this about a bazillion times already. You have three options. 1. Use your real name as your screen name, like Jon Cole, Chuck Most and many others do. 2. Post your real name under your avatar. 3. Post your real name in a signature line that appears at the bottom of all your posts. Any one of those three options is fine.
  19. RoG is Revell of Germany, not Revell-Monogram. R-M is Revell-Monogram.
  20. If a person is that hard up for cash that they can't afford a hundred bucks, I can't justify wasting 6-8 bucks a can for compressed air. I think a better idea would be to use aerosol spray paint for the time being, and start saving up for that compressor ASAP. Every dollar spent on a can of compressed air is a dollar wasted, IMO. Those dollars could instead go towards that compressor fund.
  21. I think I can safely say we are all behind you.
  22. A few more abbreviations you'll see here from time to time: PE=photoetched OOB=out of box (box stock) CA=cyanoacrylate (crazy glue) MEK=methyl ethyl ketone, a solvent that can be used to glue styrene RMCoM=Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland (aftermarket stuff) RoG=Revell of Germany RC=radio controlled GSL=Greater Salt Lake Model Car Championship contest: http://www.gslchampionship.org/ NNL=Nameless National Luminaries (or National Nameless Luminaries)... the original "for show and not for competition" type model show created by a group of...well... nationally known model car builders. The format was created in response to a letter to the editor (Scale Auto) written by Mark Gustavson, blasting certain "nationally known luminaries who shall remain nameless" for not attending a contest he had created and promoted. MCM=should be obvious... SA=that "other" mag OP=original post or original poster. The first post of a thread. PM=private (or personal) message RBI=runs batted in
  23. What he said. Buy a compressor and you pay for it once. And you never run out of compressed air. The cost of the canned air adds up real fast.
  24. How about this one? Real or model? The answer: REAL!
