  1. I wished I HAD the rest of the Hemi. as for the "yard" it came from, the other one was "crushed" and the motor was no where to be found!

As for the 429 and 460, YES, there were the 429 Boss, the 428 Cammer, and the 429, my mistake, or mis-type, the 429 Wedge head engine and 460 were 385 Y-blocks! LAST "FE" engine from Ford was the 427......

The 429 Boss, and the 428 Cammer BOTH were Hemi's........

Actually, the 429/460 engines are 385 series as is the boss 429. The Y block is a totally different series again. Think 292 and 312 t bird engines. The SOHC " cammer" is based on an FE is 427 cubic inches The last performance FE engines were the 428 cobra jets

The boss 429 was not a true Hemi as it only had a semi hemispherical combustion chamber. Hope this helps. I digest Ford engine part numbers in my sleep and have had my hands on every one of the engines I listed ?

  2. I looked at all mine and I have some with headers and some without. My advice is to ditch the sway bar. I have not had luck running all 3 pieces on any of mine. It will look better than everything all bent and twisted. Option 2 is trim the oil filter so it's not as deep. I have done this as well and it clears the sway bar. Also regarding the headers many fords run this type of header due to the layout of the front suspension. They are a joy to work on in 1:1 torinos, Mustangs and Cougars. Lol.

  3. I have an 85 Mercury capri ( think mustang) that is so oddly equipped that it's the only one known in the fox Capri registry. It's a bare bones GS model. It's has the 5.0/ 5 speed ( only available in Canada in the GS ) it has the red/ black carpet springtime special interior ( only availible for 3 months in 85) and it's radio delete car. 179 radio delete capris were built in 85 and 150 went to mclaren to become ASC coupes. That leaves 29 cars. Mine with all the oddball options is one of the rarest foxes ever built

  4. Is it a 427 sohc in this kit? If so here are some facts. Ford didn't do a blue engine In a mustang until 66. They were black before that. The 427 sohc was never a production engine in any Ford car. It was a crate engine. They came with the blocks painted lightly black
