  1. I also believe the market is flooded right now, how many of us are aging and sitting on a couple to a few hundred kits right now, I know many guys that are thinning the stash, cutting back on buying, realizing their never going to get to em all, I know I've sold a couple hundred the past couple years and will clear out a bunch more this winter, sure there will be some kits that always bring good money but I think lots and lots of common and semi-common kits will drop in price, just not enough younger guys interested to replace us older guys

also when setting your prices on ebay remember they and paypal get a cut that's usually adds up to about 20% or so

It appears to my newly overhauled eyes that the ads have gotten much larger in the last couple of weeks.

Bill, Lincoln tried to imitate the bustle-back Seville in the '80s, but I didn't think it was a big seller.  Then there was an '80s Mopar car with somewhat similar rear end (was it Mirada or Imperial?).

it was actually Imperial 80-83 I think, only as a 2 door except for a few limo conversions, was a nice looking car drove like the land yacht it is 1981-imperial.jpg.5352a8500498b223eae57ccecde662f3.jpg

  4. maybe save some things your still seriously interested in and see what happens after a break, myself over 45 yrs in the hobby and have taken years off from building, but was still involved in the hobby via retail and toy show stuff like that so that kept me interested, anyhow I love archery but had to quit cold turkey due to having my sternum removed due to a rare serious cancer, thanks goodness I didn't get rid of everything model related cause now its been one of my main hobbies again, it doesn't cost anything to let some sit for a while  you never know what life will throw at you

good luck in whatever you decide

  5. Thanks Dan they do have some interesting stuff guess I'll have to decide what I'd really like to build, sorta told my wife a while ago a Rhoads would be my last guitar but just don't think I could do the neck and headstock justice cause really love the real Jackson neck, the Jem is also interesting but not really wanting to deal with another Floyd setup, a hardtail Jem could be cool

I have a couple of guitars on the bench that I'm finishing up. Paint is done, working on the neck now, putting in the inlays and side markers.

the finish looks super, wondering if you started with one of those diy kits, or just a body and neck ?? been kinda thinking about building one and was thinking kit but sorta know I'd have to throw out most of the electrics and hardware cause its probably the cheapest stuff made correct ?? so maybe just a better quality body and neck to start with is the way to go but don't really want to get into installing frets, any ideas ??

  7. been on Ebay since 01 myself both buying and selling, haven't sold much the past couple years because it seems they wanted to push sellers into the store type format with automatic listing renewals and collecting taxes on the sellers behalf plus the fees were getting to be about 20 % of the total, I don't know if that's still the case or not and will look into it soon cause I have several lifetimes of kits and die cast to thin out

the thing I just noticed is looking in automotive models and kits category, filtered by US only listings there's only approx. 8500 listings for auctions and buy it now listings are approx. 98,000, I didn't know there was that much imbalance

Is this the original General Lee that was pulled out of the woods?

yes its Lee 1 which is in the opening credits that jumps off the dirt pile at the college

the wheels in the first 2 pics are just some old aluminum slots that were painted gold when they were touring the car around before the restoration, should be easier to find they was very popular maybe these would work

tv episode car had a wide steel slot style wheel notice the thickness of the wheel lip and the slot openings, maybe some old dirt track kit
