This is what we call a "Deal's Wheels Never Was" . It's a Jimmy Flintstone Resin body with chrome parts from a Revell '66 Pickup kit .
After enlarging the rear wheel openings and some paint I mounted the body on an old Deal's Wheels chassis , added the chrome , and printed a few decals for it . The front wheels and caps are from the pickup truck kit while I made the larger rears myself . I also fabricated the roof rack and surfboards .The finishing touch was to modify some Silly Surfer vinyl figures to be the Surf-burban owners !
I really had some fun with this one , hope you all like it !This is the resin shorty body . . . not sure what it was originally intended for .
More pics . . . thanks for looking !

Great start Craig ! Good to hear you got the Blue Lines figured out . Switching the seats is a very smart move. . . when I painted mine it took 3 or 4 coats of white to cover the black then I painted the yellow . . . a real pain !

I've been working on this body for about a year and it's close enough to start adding the window and bed rail trim . It still needs some work on the wheel openings and I haven't even started the interior , pickup bed , or tailgate and taillights yet . It will be painted Dark Jade Green with Gold stripes , Rays Kits printed some gold decals for me last year but for this mockup I just printed some black stickers . I was hoping to have it finished this year but now it's looking like next spring .

I really enjoyed following along during the build process in your WIP. Every day I checked into the forum, the first thing I would do was look and see if you had updated your build thread. I was riveted! Now that you have posted photos of the finished product, I can describe it in one word, Outstanding!
Thanks very much Tony !

Very very nicely done Ray ! I've looked closely at ordering one and have to agree that it's probably over priced , but so is every thing today .
I can understand you moving on , I've been thinking about it a lot myself lately . Good luck to you !

Thank you fer yer comment...who's Donald?
Donald was the boy friends name on the TV show "That Girl" . I prefer to address members by their real name and since you don't give yours (required by forum rules) I decided to improvise .

Well done Mario ! I agree with you this is a very well done kit , it doesn't get enough credit .

Sharp looking Duster Michael ! I've always liked this car . I built the original MPC kit as a kid and still have it boxed away somewhere .

Very cool Maverick, Bob. I think this is the first time I've seen the AMT boxing of the JoHan Maverick. Lovely work on this one. Great finishes and a cool look.
Thanks much Trevor ! This particular kit is pretty hard to find , I got lucky finding this one about 10 years ago .
