  1. Here's my highly modified Minicraft 1/16 Roadster. Running a 312Y Block with scratch built Hilborn injection.
  2. Very kool Luvin' it.
  3. Very neat Chris, this model will only be one thing short of the real car, Nitro in the tank to make it fire up :D

  8. Bernard, you nailed this one perfectly, looks period perfect mate, awesome build and eye for old school detail, well done mate.
  9. Another magnificent model from the warped mind (in a cool way) of Ira.
  10. Hi Manuel, yep angel hair the stuff of legendary Kustoms. It's actually just faux sliver fur you can buy at your local fabric store, I covered the interior tub in double sided tape and then laid in the fur (it's stretchy fabric backed). Then I trimmed it with a pair of small scissors (like giving it a hair cut) just to get it more to scale. Hope that helps
  11. Hi Dean, yep the decals were a challenge, generally for that type of decal going onto a complex surface I use quite warm water to soak the decal in and then lots of Microsol decal setting solution (blue bottle), you can then generally work them down fine using that process. After they are dry I apply Tamiya clear gloss to the entire body. Hi anne, have you been on a caffeine fix ? (LOL) Yep the original chrome was stripped using a Caustic bath, then the parts cleaned up and re-chromed using Tamiya gloss black and then Alclad. I post some close up pics of the wheels and gauges later this week. The kit spring pieces were just substituted with chrome springs I found in the jewellery making section of my local craft shop.
  12. Hi Nick, the pearl was painted over ModelMaster white primer. Pactra pearls are acrylic paint (water based) so they are friendly to most primers and bare plastic. I normally use a 0.3 needle airbrush, crank the pressure up to 60 psi and spray the paint neat from the container.
  13. Neat build, one of the best 57s I've seen
  14. Hi Joe, I built this from a reference photo of when Ed showed the car not long after he purchased it. The changes he did included the spinner caps instead of the mini moons it had and he re-did the interior in Lavender. The car went through a few other changes to where it is today restored back to close to how Ed bought the car.
  15. Thanks again guys.
  16. Thanks for the compliments, anyone wanting the wire wheel build tutorial PM me your email addy and I send it to you.

  18. Incredible build Steve, attention to detail is amazing, well done mate.
  19. Very nice Ron, superb paint finish as usual.
  20. Great build and a cool twist on this model
  21. Cheers guys thanks.
  22. Thanks guys. The wire spokes are small lengths of 32 gauge fuse wire
  23. Very cool overhaul
  24. Completion #4: Difficult kit to build but I'm happy with how it came out. Added machined engine pulleys, machined distributors with vac advances, new machined air filters, wired with clear plug leads, full angel hair interior with machined knobs on the TV and radio, real chrome steel coils springs, painted in three different yellows to get the final finish. Tinted the bubble top.
  25. Completion #3: Painted this with Pactra RC Pearl White, machined new engine pulleys and tidied up the three belt blower setup, used real chrome springs in the suspension, added gold piping to the seats and door trims and scratchbuilt a 49 Ford gauge combo for the dash.
