My first rat rod. Inspired by dr cranky and many others. Enjoyed the build so much I've stared another. Best part is you mess up just cover it with rust.

Does anyone know what's going on with micro nitro?
-
Thanks,I wasn't sure how it would look with the engine out when I stared.i just wanted to try something different.helix it's good to here from somebody from scale sprints.i check it out a few times a month but it's not as active as it use to be.you better get after building a sprint.there are a lot of great aftermarket parts we didn't have when we started.

yes it is a pic of the real car.weld points on the headers are molded in.i just black washed them.the lower weld points don't exist I just put two lins of wash to make it look like a weld line.the header in the pic is not the header for the build.i was just experimenting with a few ideas.ill kinda see what looks good and then finish the two for the kit.

I had to rework the dash filling in the holes were the kit chassis bars went through it.i also put end plates on because the doors will be open and you could see under the dash..........I sanded of the molded in gauges. cut a piece of aluminum sheet to fit and sprayed it anodized blue.put in slixx decals.cut aluminum rod for gauge bazels and topped it off with pro teck bolt heads.....sorry pics are dark

just a little update.i got my rims from micro nitro and the rest of my parts .scotts tires look great with these rims.not only is his stuff graet he has the fastest shipping ive seen.im trying to use as many aftermarket parts from as many makers as I can.they deserve to be shown off for what they add to the modeling community........right or wrong this is the finished chassis.......here is a pic of the header ive been messing around with.painted with buffing aluminum.heat stained with Tamiya powders and given a black wash......the manifold was also sprayed with aluminum buffinf and given a black was.i also put a coat of future on it to see if it would look like polishes aluminum.its kind of an experiment.if it doesn't look right ill strip it and alclad it so tell me what you think.

wow that was quick.sorry I forgot to post pic but I got an answer before I got it up.so here it is anyway.......thanks a pic would be great.

thank you all for the help so far.....no new pics but im working on finishing the chassis suspention parts.how does the wheelie bars attack to the suspention in this car.is it to the 4 link or is it attached to the rear end like in this pic of an 83 Camaro.
