  1. Thanks for the comments! Did a quick weight test on the frame. Lipo's aren't heavy enough.
  2. For the front end I used the same spring steel and 1/16" steel for the hangers and they are attached with a small pin and I used heat shrink tubing for the bushings. Airbags with compression springs covered with a peice of a twist balloon. The axle is cast alloy from Kit Form Services.
  3. Glad you guys like it, here's some more! For the rear suspension I am using leaf springs made from a 1/8 scale engine pullstart recoil spring, 1/16" steel for the airbag mounts and I simulated airbags with compression springs covered with twist balloons. They are attached with small pins and I used heat shrink tubing for the bushings. The axles are connected together with with brass rod and tube brazed together to accept the stock driveshaft. Next I made panherd bars out of lexan and attached them with pins.
  4. I have been building radio control cars on and off for 28 years and recently started using static models to make scale r/c vehicles. I have always wanted a semi so I decided that should be my next build. Got some good tips from this site so I thought I would share my build. I will be using the Losi Micro Crawler for the axles, transmission and electrics and Italeri wheels and tires. Starting with the chassis I extended it 2", reinforced it with 2mm and 3.2mm styrene and lots of glue, attached the floor for the sleeper and removed all the stuff I don't need.
