  1. Nice build, I have been into rat rods lately. I like everything about them but the rust. I think it would look cool if you put the radiator low in front of the axle and leaned it back at an angle.
  2. Thanks, glad you like it. Just installed blue lights under the trailer too. If you have not seen it you should google the truck Disorderly Conduct.
  3. Thanks for the comments! I am slowly working on the trailers when I get the time.
  4. gotnitro beat me to it but I also got chain binders from Kit Form Services, they are photo etched metal. Just replace the styrene pins with something like paperclips (you'll see). Also got some scale chain.
  5. Nice build, I think you and I are the only ones to hand build a working 5th wheel but I couldn't talk myself into doing the rivets and I tought about it several times.
  6. Glad you reworked the fenders, looks much better. A big Texas bumper like the 1 on my truck will fit nice. I got my bumper custom made from the ebay seller in post #77 but I don't think his brake is big enough to do a 14th scale. You should use 1/16 stainless. Harbor Freight has 2 different sized breaks cheap but I don't know how good they are. Here's a high traffic forum for the King Hauler. If you havn't seen it you should spend some time there, many impressive builds.
  7. I put 2 of the blue lights on the hood so when it's up they shine down on the engine.
  8. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated The answer is in post #1, Losi Micro Crawler now called a Trail Trekker.
  9. Thanks for the comments. Ready to see some lights! The side marker lights are darker than I want and the camera makes them look even darker. I used an orange sharpie to make them darker and Future polish to hold the covers on and the Future polish made the Sharpie darker. I can fix it, just time consuming.
  10. I used peices of an antenna to detail the engine and really like how it turned out. I made radiator supports using paperclips and hood supports with 32 gauge wire. I also used nylon screen to give the radiator more texture.
  11. Here are some pics of the underside. These will actually supply power to the trailer.
  12. Thanks for the comments, more pics with lights coming soon. I have used spring benders on 3/8 tube and based on that I didn't think they would work well with this really thin wall tube.
  13. I also took pics with the flash only (no other lighting) and think they look really cool but I didn't want to post a ton of pics so click on this link to see them all. http://s67.photobucket.com/user/rcdave13/library/Losi%20Micro%20Crawler/Micro%20Pete#/user/rcdave13/library/Losi%20Micro%20Crawler/Micro%20Pete?sort=6&page=1&_suid=139317932609804550979250048996
  14. This truck looks so cool I couldn't stop taking pictures of it. The visor is made out of styrene, the steps are made out of styrene and covered with a chrome sticker and you can't see it but I made a headliner out of the stuff I used for the mudflaps. The fuel tanks and air cleaners are aluminum from Jamie at MoLuminum and look great. I think the only stock parts are the horns and mirrors. These pics are with the airbags dropped (springs removed).
  15. Nice to see other trucks with lights, mine has 50 led's but unfortunatly none of them flash(not yet anyway). You should check out Osram micro side mount led's, they are perfect for marker lights.
  16. Can't believe it has been a year since I have updated on this site. Painting was difficult and stressfull for me but it turned out pretty good. There are some paint problems that I have decided to overlook for now so I can get this finished. Made a motor plate and installed the new motor. It's not much faster but there is more torque than I need so I will probably change the gearing later. The windsheild that came with the kit was warped and I could hardly see through it so I made a new one out of lexan.
  17. I'm glad you like it. I cut holes in a peice of electric tape to match the gauges and put it on the back of the dash and then I put the Led on and made a lexan box around it and sealed it with liquid electrical tape.
  18. If you are referring to the marker lights on top, I just desoldered them to paint.
