AMT 1969 GTX . I built this right ater it came out , back in the early 90's. It's supposed to replicate the actual car I had at the time. This was my 1st attempt at an opening hinged decklid. Scratchbuilt the underhood a/c system with parts from unknown kits back then. Exterior was painted the same shade of medium green metallic my old car was.Vinyl top was done with masking tape , then brush painted green.

Then again,,, mix up a little nitro and add some pressure does wonderful things to an internal combustiuon engine

Street car Then in no particular order of preferance ,,,,something a bit more potent. But then again, the spark plugs in the valve covers with 8 tubes sticking thru the hood is a lovely sight to behold

I was planning to try and snag it at the end, but when it got to over $80 with 3 or 4 days left I said no and just watched it . Sold for over $225. and IMO, thats insane. A dead mint unbuilt just about a month or so ago only sold in the $250 range I know R+R makes one ( I'll pass thank you) And I think MCW makes one, but I haven't seen in person

Started this one a good while back. And it still sits unfinished on the shelf. Maybe someday. The car it's to relicate was sold nearly 6 years ago. Original 1970 issue MPC body and interior , with the newer AMT undercarriage added for greater detail. Engine is from the AMT 1971 Duster kit

so far Missing link and Modelhause are at the top of my list for EXCELLANT quality. Jimmy Flintstone and R+R are at the bottom revised, I was out of the hobby for a while. so I have not followed the advancements of the aftermkt very closely. But Modelhaus is still the benchmark by which all others are measured. Missing link is extremely close and will become an aftermkt source to be reckoned with. R+R along with Flintstone and , although generally cheaper,,,, seem to be the ones no one wants to be compared to .Why ????? I personally would prefer to pay more and receive a better quality piece from the getgo. I recently received a resin kit from RMR and although it's not a Modelhaus quality, I think it deserves to be somewhere in the middle. Price wise it wasn't much more than a R+R kit,but the quality was considerably better. The Jimmy Flintstome piece I received was just a body, Yea it was cheap price wise ,, and it looks it. So I guess quality IS reflected in price. I am going to get a MCW body and compare then decide to make my own or not ( it's a 64 Plymouth btw) Based on what I have, if I need something JK has, I want to see it in person first. I also have a few AFX N Scale bodies , quality wise is not bad , reputation though on the other hand has gone down hill. Another good one to deal with is Compitition Resins, it's just a funnycar body but the quality was up there with the best on them I also have a Reliable Resin body , same deal it's a nice piece similar with CR and I would from both again without question

When I started in the online comunity. I owned at that time a,,1969 GTX convertible and a 1970 Dodge Challenger I just shortened the accronym. My avatar is because I love the old drag cars from the sixties and I think the shot just screams of the time period Out of one of my all time favorite cars

Thanks, Thats what I was afraid of .all I could find was 1961 Bonneville kits Sorry 1/18th scale is a no go for me. I prefer to keep everything at 1/25th scale if at all possibile I will look into the MCW body

My opinion only, build it the way YOU like it. Me personally I don't think the car looks all that good in that color, darker wheels might help, but I doubt it

Tables raised and rope off about 2 ft outside the edges of the tables to keep prying hands off. LOTS of 'Don't touch ' signs .

Not to hijack the thread but these are what I think would be good There were avail in the past but I talked to the caster and the mold is now bad with no intention to repair it at this time I already have an RMR resin cab,,, bit it's only a 1/2 ton cab style
