G'day all, just finished my rendition of the Revell '39 Chevy sedan delivery. This is a nice kit and goes together without too much drama. Detail is good until you come to do the interior. It has no door trim detail and the bucket seats went straight to the parts box. I used a spare bench seat painted semi gloss black with matt black inserts and red flocking for the carpet. I added scratch built armrests and window cranks. Steering wheel is from the Revell 64 Impala with column mounted tachometer. The exterior colour is Tamiya As5 light blue (Luftwaffe) with Tamiya Ts13 gloss clear, which ran out halfway through the first coat so I finished it with Mr Hobby gloss clear. Items I used from the parts box are the steelies, dog dish hubcaps, tyres and air filter (kit doesn't have an air filter). I added fuel lines and plug wires. I also added exhaust tips which were scratched out from some plastic tubeing then chromed with an SMS chrome pen. Pop's 39 is a Galveston local and is often seen parked near Pleasure Pier while Pop is out surfing. Thanks for looking, and as always, your comments are welcomed and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍 PS. Pop is a fictional character.

G'day folks, just finished this AMT 64 Ford Galaxie 500XL from the Cal drag combo kit. Painted with Tamiya TS-21 gold and TS-84 metallic gold in the waist panels, which is hardly noticeable in the photos. Interior is painted with a semi gloss brown to imitate leather. The antenna is stretched sprue and the rear view mirror is from the parts box. Wheels are resin by Dirty Custom, bought on eBay through Platinum Scale. This kit tooling is very old but still builds into a nice curbside model. Thanks for looking and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day folks, here is my version of the Revell/Monogram '65 Vette' Street Machine. Completed in April 2022 it is painted Tamiya TS-60 pearl green and TS-29 semi gloss black for the interior. This kit went together nicely except it didn't have windshield wipers (or maybe I misplaced them) so I made up some out of scrap styrene. Wheels and tyres are parts box items and the antenna is stretched sprue. Thanks for looking and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day all, l want to share a white letter tyre technique I was experimenting with on the weekend. I was looking at paint pens at Officeworx when I had a thought, this might work on my model tyres. It's an acrylic 1mm tip white paint pen produced by Uni Posca. For just under 5 Australian dollars I thought, why not. Back at the workbench I prepared the pen according to the instructions and used my magnifying visor. The paint flows at a manageable pace and lays down thick but drys flat. The tyre with the cragar wheel was my first attempt and went on a little thick. The other tyre I took a bit more care and it shows. These particular tyres have very bold lettering but I'm fairly confident it would work with smaller lettering too. Here are some pics of the results. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day folks, here I have my take on the 55 street machine by amt/ertl. Completed in January, 2017. My inspiration for this was a biege and white 55 from an article in the Australian Street Rodder magazine. Paint is Tamiya ts46 light sand with ts26 pure white for the roof and ts13 clear. Built OOB except for a lowered stance and wheels and tyres which are from Pegasus. Trim is BMF. First picture is the 1:1 inspiration car. Thanks for looking and all feedback is appreciated. Cheers, David.😎👍

G'day folks, here I have my AMT 40 Willys coupe/gasser which I have converted to a street rod. She has independent front suspension and a triangulated four link rear end. Paint is Tamiya ts7 racing white with ts12 orange for the flames. The flames were done using a mask from www.lazymodeller.com, which I had some trouble with when I was removing it due to spraying the paint on too thick. Interior is semi gloss black with red piping and black flocking for the carpet. I also added a resin B&M auto shifter. Rear tyres and tail lights are from the parts box. All feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day all, l just finished my Revell 67 Dodge Charger 426 Hemi. Done in Tamiya ts43 racing green with xf71 cockpit green for the interior. My first time at flocking for the carpet didn't go well. I'll have to do some more practice on this so next time I'll be better prepared. Built OOB except for scratch built antenna. Also missing steering mechanism which fell out on final assembly. Now on to the next one. Thanks for looking. All feedback welcomed and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day all, here is my Revell 1:24 1971 Plymouth HEMI Cuda' in plum crazy completed in August 2019. Paint is Tamiya ts24 purple with kit blackout decals. I built this box stock and with not much attention to detail under the hood or the interior as it was just a quick build. This kit goes together nicely although I did have some issues with the hood fitment. I hope you like it and thanks for looking. All feedback is welcomed and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day folks, here is my version of the Revell 63 Impala ss. It's a California Wheels 2in1 which I built oob back in November 2018. The paint is Tamiya ts19 metallic blue with ts26 pure white on the roof. Ts23 light blue was used for the interior. I did add some plug wires to the engine for some extra detail. Body trim is bmf. These kits have the after market wheels with disc brakes but no callipers. By the time I realized, it was too late to rectify. All feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day folks, here I have my 37 tudor built back in September 2020. This is a nice model with good details, especially the independent front suspension. Paint is Tamiya ts31 bright orange and ts34 camel yellow with a coat of pearl clear. Mostly built oob with some extra details in the engine compartment like electronic ignition, plug wires and nos cylinder. Wheels are from the parts box. All feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day folks, here is my version of AMT's 62 Buick electra. I decided to make it a lowrider to display with my 64 chevy impala. Colour is Tamiya ts58 pearl light blue. The graphics were done by masking up over the light blue then a base coat of ts30 silver leaf, then free handed the pattern with a black fine tip sharpie then finished off with a coat of ts72 clear blue. Interior was left in the white plastic with some chrome details. Thanks for looking and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day folks, this build is my take on the Revell 'Black Magic'. I started it in the late 80s or early 90s then boxed it half built for 25 years. Finished in mid 2014 oob except for amber caution light unit and trailer hook up cables. I would like to refresh it one day as it was not displayed in a cabinet for a few years and got a bit dusty. This is my only 1:25 scale big rig but have an Italeri Western Star I have started, hopefully this one won't take as long as the first one😄. Thanks for looking and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day folks, today I finished my version of the Revell 64 Impala. I'm quite happy with the result. I only have one issue with this kit and that's the tail lights. To me they look a little out of scale, i.e. too big and different sizes. Overall this kit goes together well. My only regret was when I got glue from my thumb on the front windshield and cracked it when I was buffing it out. Graphics are the decals from the AMT 63 Galaxie kit. Everything else is oob except for the twin antenna. Thanks for looking and as always all feedback is welcome. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day all, here I have my version of the Revell 50 Ford F1 pickup. Completed in July 2017, It is all oob. Paint is Tamiya ts21 gold and ts14 black with ts46 light sand for the bench seat. The only change was the lowered stance. Thanks for looking and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day all. I've just finished my version of the Revell aerodyne snap kit. These are great kits for a quick build and detail up quite well. Colour is Tamiya ts60 pearl green with an array of decals from the parts box. Thanks for looking and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day guys. Here is my spin on the Tamiya 1966 Beetle. I've built it box stock except for a lowered stance, deletion of the fender mounted turn signals and custom two tone. I also added ignition wires. I hope you like. All feedback is welcome. Cheers, David. 😎👍

Here I have my Monogram 1/24 78 El Camino. This kit goes together nicely except for the tailgate. Lots of options in this kit and was fun to build. Paint is Tamiya ts24 purple with ts46 light sand for the interior. All feedback is welcomed and encouraged. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day guys. I have for you today my box stock AMT 53 Ford crestline sunliner. I bought this kit because I was attracted to the box art. The only changes are the twin antennas and a lowered stance. Thanks for looking. All feedback is welcome and appreciated. Cheers, David. 😎👍

G'day guys. Fresh off the bench is my Revell '37 Ford panel delivery. I've built it in the street rod style with a Halloween theme. Her name is Sabrina and she has an independent front suspension set up with lowered spindles. Rear is coil spring. Her power comes from a supercharged Tempest 4 cylinder sourced from the Revell Micky Thompson 'Attempt 1 record car' kit. Her colour is Tamiya ts72 clear blue over ts65 pearl clear over ts14 gloss black. Graphics are skulls with some dry brushing for effect using gloss black over ts30 silver leaf then the pearl clear and clear blue. I added Aussie number plates of my home state of New South Wales. This build can be viewed in WIP. Thanks for watching and all feedback is welcomed. Cheers, David. 😎 👍

G'day all. Here I have my AMT/ERTL 1968 Shelby GT500 which I built about two months ago. I wanted to present it with the rare 427sohc option. I'm not sure if it was a factory option but I believe a few did have this engine. For it to fit, the hood had to be opened up, which I did but opted to use a scoop from my parts box to make it look more like Shelby might have done it if it was offered to the public. Please excuse the messy masking job, I had a bit of trouble with it. Exhaust was built with spare parts but looks wrong. Anyway, thanks for looking. All feedback encouraged and appreciated. Cheers, David 😎👍

I have started fabricating the front suspension set up by swapping out the stock I beam with independent front suspension. To get the stance I want I've mocked up some crude spindles which will be hidden by the wheels. Here you can see the piece's of the original cross member cut from the chassis

I built this Lindberg "DODGE FEVER" A100 with intent on a slammed ride height which I achieved. Down side is with the mods I've made it was near impossible to have running gear. So with that said I built it as a static model. Paint is Tamiya Ts20 metallic green and Ts26 pure white. Cowl vent and masking is a bit messy but looks OK on the shelf. Thanks for looking. All feedback is welcome. Cheers, David.
