Scale I Build

  1. Around town here ( Murrieta , Ca. ) , a local merchant has a "1941" Ford panel van . I put the alleged year in quotes because that's they year he told me the vehicle was ---- but it didn't look like a 1939-1941 model ! Instead , it had "perched" headlamps like the pre-1939 models . I have no idea what the heck this thing is ! It's definitely a heavy duty model ; 8-lug wheel retainers (with more modern , plain steel wheels -- no split-rim wheels) ; looks as though it's based upon an F2 or F3 chassis (yes , I realise that that nomenclature wasn't applied until the 1946 model year ) ; one-piece hood , etc. , etc. The main body looks like a raised-roof version of the typical sedan delivery , and definitely looks factory-produced . An internet search has turned up absolutely nothing about this vehicle ! Unfortunately , I couldn't take an photos of it as my phone was dead , otherwise I'd post some pics of this "mysterious" sedan-panel-delivery-van . Anyone have any idea what that model is called ?
  2. Calling this one done. It was a good build. Thank you to Aaronw for the help USFS decals. Might make some wildland tools for the bed in the future.
  3. 80s issue bought for a fiver (considering how rare these are), but it was started with some things glued and tons of parts missing but luckily had most of the main essential parts intact. Had to fab up grill inserts using mesh screening, headlights from a 57 Bel Air, and a parts dashboard modded and trimmed down from a AMT drag car of some sort. Most of the suspension parts were ether missing or glued to bonded mush so cooked up a C4 front suspension and rear from a Monogram Monte Carlo. The V12 flathead engine was glued to high hell and the wonky molded in v8 headers weren't appealing, so in went a Viper v10 with custom intake tubes and radiator. Wheels and Tires were from the Cali wheels issue 57 Bel-air and a 5th extra was found to act as a de-facto spare tire since the kits piece was missing. Paint is Tamiya Clear Orange over Rustoluem Aluminum cleared with future, and some tribal decals were spares from one of the 66 Impalas I built.

    41 Willys

This is my next project now that I'm finally getting my shop back together. 1/18 scale diecast 41 Willys. This is going to be a simple repaint and some small detailing.
  6. Had an issue with the cab trying to get it on the chassis which caused much cursing, but it finally came out looking great.
