I recently traded for an on-road R/C car chassis and have decided to use the '69 Corvette Stingray body that the same manufacturer offers for said platform with another brands Minilight style wheels and Hoosier style tires for a late 60's-Mid 70's road racer look and want to add sidepipes to it and would rather make them out of Aluminum vs Plastic them either foiling them, painting them Chrome or Silver, or trying to rap them in Chrome Monokote. I'm thinking I'll use an appropriate diameter thin wall tubing for the actual pipe and then maybe a tapable thick wall tubing for the muffler portion and use 3-4mm screws to mount the pipes to the body by drilling and tapping 3-4 locations along the muffler section of the fabbed pipes and bolting them straight to the shell. Anybody have a good suggestion on how to bend the pipe without kinking it as well as bonding the muffler section to the inner tube of the pipe assembly?!
