Scale I Build

  1. I thought that I would share my latest completed model with you. This the Revell 2005 C6 Corvette. Here is the link to the WIP thread in case you are interested. My overall impression of the kit is a good one. I would recommend it. Fit was good, no flash to speak of, and it looks the part. I wanted a dark blue Vette with red accents throughout. There are pictures of the inspiration for this build in the WIP. It is painted in Gravity Colors (Spain) Lexus LFA Liquid Blue. The hood and roof are done in Scale Motorsports carbon fiber. The kit's chrome wheels were stripped and painted in AK Interactive Xtreme Metals Metallic Smoke. I felt this tied in with the CF decals quite well. On to the pictures. Let me know what you think! Forgive me for a gratuitous picture. I finished this model the night before the show. I will admit that it was a smaller show, but I was very pleased with the results of its debut outing. Thank you for looking!
  2. Very unusual for me, I have started several kits and not finished them. I normally start one and plow through it whether or not I am feeling it. I have laid aside a couple of kits recently. I pulled out the Revell 2005 C6 Corvette kit hoping for an easy, hassle free, fun kit. So far it has fit the bill. I'll start by sharing a couple of pictures of what were the inspiration for my build. I chose dark blue body color with red accents in the engine bay, interior and rotors. Here is the kit. Here are the kit contents. Here is the color that I selected for the body. Here are a few pictures that show the inspiration of this build. Note that my interior will not have near as much red as the real car. I usually start with the body. I highlight the seam lines with a Sharpie to make them easier to see. In this picture, sanding has already started. I will try to keep regular updates going. As I always do, I am further along with this build than what I post. I like my updates to cover meaningful progress, like a whole completed subassembly kind of thing. Thanks for looking!
  3. The latest in my series to build all generations of Corvettes, the C6. Fairly simplified kit, but it goes together well. Only 1 left to go! Comments welcome, thanks for looking.
