Scale I Build

Found 2 results

  1. So another day, another kit bargain. A 1/25 scale Revell Historic Series '80 Peterbilt 359 Conventional, being made into a custom "old iron" tribute intended to evoke old needle nose trucks, with a parts bin day cab that will be backdated to not have the paddle-style door handles (it is a Kenworth, but I thought it flowed with the rest of the rig, and it is "within the family"), and a cutdown interior that will be a retro-styled simple affair. Single large round Dietz headlamps replace the stock items, grille will be body color with custom made slat or screen inner section, and base color inside/out will be Glidden brick red with Glidden matte black as second color. Found at Michaels today and it rang up for a touch under $20 as many Facebookers hinted at. Plus, it was the only land vehicle kit available, so it was a Pete or nothing. First look at it in paint and mocked up. This interior used hand painted upholstery/mats/dash/etc, a custom steering wheel/column/shifter (not shown) and had material taken out to make a sleeper cab Pete interior work in the denuded Bandag Bandit KW cab that I made look more like an old Pete needlenose crossed with a Diamond T or an IHC westcoaster.
  2. Wild Custom Vehicle CBP Rules Custom vehicles only, the wilder the better. Can be a straight out of the box custom, kit bash, parts box build, rebuilder, or resin/printed kit/parts. Previously started builds can be no more than 25% completed. 1/24 or 1/25 scale only. Multiple entries allowed The object is to have fun and be creative but it should at least look like it could driven as 1:1 on a back road, but does not have to be DOT legal by any means. Curbsides are welcome as long as they don't conflict with the previous rules. You must show your base kit or initial pile of parts in this thread. If you have one, list your theme or focus. The contest will run from December 15, 2022 till December 31, 2023 unless otherwise agreed upon. There will be no voting or official judging but I'll keep a running list of entrants. Anyone who wishes to create a thread in the WIP section of the forum are welcome to do so, just post a link in the contest thread each time you update your WIP thread. No need to post photos on both. Finished builds can be posted in the "Under Glass" section under "Model Cars" with the title starting with "Wild Custom CBP" then your vehicle.
