Scale I Build

  1. While I am waiting for it warm up enough to primer another project, I decided to start a project I have had in mind for quite awhile. A couple of inspiration photos included. I started by roughing in the various cuts, then wrote down the best order to proceed. Today I got out the saws and removed approximately 3 scale inches from the hood and body. My goal was to keep as much of the body attached before finishing the cuts. The pix show the hood sectioned and glued together and the body pieces set in place. Final sanding will prepare the body for gluing. Next will be the top chop- debating whether to lay the windshield back or keep the same angle. I plan on using the Columbia two speed rear axle, since I want to display this model towing a tear drop trailer.
  2. Wild Custom Vehicle CBP Rules Custom vehicles only, the wilder the better. Can be a straight out of the box custom, kit bash, parts box build, rebuilder, or resin/printed kit/parts. Previously started builds can be no more than 25% completed. 1/24 or 1/25 scale only. Multiple entries allowed The object is to have fun and be creative but it should at least look like it could driven as 1:1 on a back road, but does not have to be DOT legal by any means. Curbsides are welcome as long as they don't conflict with the previous rules. You must show your base kit or initial pile of parts in this thread. If you have one, list your theme or focus. The contest will run from December 15, 2022 till December 31, 2023 unless otherwise agreed upon. There will be no voting or official judging but I'll keep a running list of entrants. Anyone who wishes to create a thread in the WIP section of the forum are welcome to do so, just post a link in the contest thread each time you update your WIP thread. No need to post photos on both. Finished builds can be posted in the "Under Glass" section under "Model Cars" with the title starting with "Wild Custom CBP" then your vehicle.
  3. 3rd for the year starting from June , thats 3 more builds than I did in 6 years. This kit is OK but it has some issues, some foil is not as crisp as it once was when I had younger eyes. I never noticed some of the rear window trim was faint until it was painted , I would have added thin strips, but oh well Im letting it roll onto the shelf as is, to many kits left I want to build. This is one long car
  4. At least those '60 Falcons. Spotted on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-Ford-Falcon-Plastic-Model-car-cartoon-car-with-driver-Custom-LOOK-/261990188488?hash=item3cffd505c8
  5. I have gotten so much inspiration and such great reference material from all of the photos posted on your forums that I have decided to finally post some of mine.I tend to take my camera with me most everywhere and have even been known to climb a few fences to get a photo of some really cool stuff. I hope you enjoy these.I have more to post later. http://public.fotki.com/misterNNL/11-car-photos-i-hav/
