I finally finished this one up a few days ago. But, it's been so cold here, that I wasn't able or willing to take outside photos. This model has been a journey for sure! I started it back in October of '21. Worked on it for bit. Let it languish for bit. But, I finally made it! This is what I started with. This was an original promo that I got from ebay years ago. The body is all I ended up using. Everything except the engine came from the AMT '60 Starliner. The engine is from the Revell Mustang Super Stallion. The only modification I made to the chassis and floorpan was lowering the suspension, making the pan and frame a bit shorter at the rear and raising the rear wheel tubs 3mms. A set of 19" and 23" Pegasus Hellas painted with Tamiya Gun Metal finished the chassis (not installed in photo). The exhaust from the headers to the mufflers are from a Revell Mustang Mach III. The tailpipes were made from .100 styrene rod with the ends drilled out. The interior was modified to fit the Galaxie body and painted with Dupli Color Bahama Blue. The dash got modified to represent a digital dash. On the body, I cut the hood and trunk loose. Then added the structure to the trunk and hinged it. The fender ornaments as well as the scripts, badges and lower trim were eliminated. I cut the wide trim down to a single strip. I also had to mount the package tray to the body to have something to mount the trunk hinge. The grille was opened, headlights drilled out and replaced with lenses. The body was then painted with Tamiya Haze Gray with three coats of Tamiya Clear sanded and polished. I'll admit that I was a little reserved about my color choice. But, now that it's all together, I'm really happy with it! The only modification I made to the engine was making the air intake pipes shorter where they mount to the throttle body and adding the filter boxes from a Revell Mustang Mach III. I used the radiator and electric fans from an MPC '85 Corvette along with the master cylinder and booster. It really fills up the engine bay! Thanx for checking it out!
