Here’s another one of my 3d printed builds. The car in question will be an Holden LJ Torana funny car from way back in the early 70s. It was powered at first by a blown Small Block and then powered by a nitro blown Big Block Chev which I believe came out of a race boat. The car has been on a few covers of the Australian hotrod magazines throughout that time period due to its fiery burnouts. the picture of it roofless happened only because the roof caved in at the start line at Castlereagh drag strip. So the crew actually cut the roof of and just went full send with it. Enough of the cars history it time to show the beginning mock-ups for it. I am using a 3d printed Logge chassis which is incorrect for it as it ran I believe a Don Hardy style chassis but I’m not really for accuracy. The body has been modified by me a fair bit on tinkercad. The blower hat is temporary. The colours will be SMS paints mainly purple and orange flames. But that’s it for now stay tuned for more.

Saw the DDA kits starting to pop up on eBay and decided to finally get one. I paid a fairly good amount for it too. They aren't cheap kits. They are pretty nice though. You get a very nice hinged collector's box, tools, decals, and screws for the kit. It's a pretty simple to build model. Most of it is like a snap-tite kit. My only problems were the lack of a full engine, no plated parts for the grill/bumpers, and a rubber distributor w/spark-plug wires (which I left off because it was a nightmare to try to get put in place). It's the first kit I got a can of spray chrome to try to do the bumpers and grill. Not the same as the plated parts, but it looks alright. Over all, I'd say the DDA kits are pretty good and I want to get the 4-door Falcon kit for Christmas if I have the money. My hope is that the continue their line of Aussie cars and make a Charger, Monaro, or 2-0door Falcon next.
