Saw the DDA kits starting to pop up on eBay and decided to finally get one. I paid a fairly good amount for it too. They aren't cheap kits. They are pretty nice though. You get a very nice hinged collector's box, tools, decals, and screws for the kit. It's a pretty simple to build model. Most of it is like a snap-tite kit. My only problems were the lack of a full engine, no plated parts for the grill/bumpers, and a rubber distributor w/spark-plug wires (which I left off because it was a nightmare to try to get put in place). It's the first kit I got a can of spray chrome to try to do the bumpers and grill. Not the same as the plated parts, but it looks alright. Over all, I'd say the DDA kits are pretty good and I want to get the 4-door Falcon kit for Christmas if I have the money. My hope is that the continue their line of Aussie cars and make a Charger, Monaro, or 2-0door Falcon next. In Australia we have a car culture where we build over powered cars just to burn rubber for fun and competition. Its an Aussie thing. And DDA collectibles has a HQ Holden kit which is very similar in style to a Burnout car. So with those things in mind, I set about building my interpretation. With the engine being the main focal point, I change out the kit supplied rubbery vinyl plumbing and wiring. And replaced with some Top Studio Detail-Up parts. Replaced the oob seats with some 3D printed items from Platinum Scale a ebay vendor. The rear steel wheels I 3D printed are from Model Design found on cults3d, burnout tyres are from the DDA Kingswood kit. Installed a @Texas_3D_Customs shifter I 3D printed a fuel cell which is from my good friend slowysmodels which can be found on his cults3d profile. Used aluminium tube for the exhaust. And when these cars are not burning rubber they are usually on display with the rear show wheels. Which are from the DDA wheel set, 5 spoked chromed. Paint is Panther Mica from Outlaw paints. My apologies for the quality of the photo's, They were taken with a phone. I will make sure to take some with a camera and replace where needed.

Once again something different, this time a build inspired and styled from Australian Street Machines. Basically out of the box build. Just a change of wheels, which are 3D printed items from Jays resin wheels on ebay. Aftermarket front seats from Top Studio. Texas 3D Customs shifter. Steering wheel from Platinum Scale on ebay Paint is Acid Rain from The Scale Modellers Supply. Interior paint is Vallejo Mecha light green. Alclad chrome on the bumpers, grill, headlight surrounds, door handles, side mirrors, rear vision mirror and wipers. Engine components painted with Alclad Polshied Aluminium. Wheels were painted with Zurc Zuper chrome Bare Metal Foil for the trim.

Resin HQ Monaro body from The Parts Box with AMT 71 duster interior/engine/chassis. Pics: Interior All comments welcome.

I got this resin body from eBay and I had an AMT 71 duster minus the body so i decided to make it work and with a little trimming of the chassis: as you can see there was some filling to be done but there were only 3 air bubbles and were a quick fix so i was happy. also i wanted to have a engine so i opened the hood, not too spectacular as i fount the resin a bit harder to scribe so its a little rough (i will add a bit of material around the hood and sand it to shape to get a better fit). another good thing is i will get the nicely detailed duster chassis (although not quite accurate for a HQ but it does look good)

Here's my next project, it's a resin FJ Holden van kit. The kit is from Majestic Resin Australia and comes as virtually a complete kit. I thought I better put one together to evaluate how well they fit and use it as a chance to re-engineer any parts if we need to, to make it more "user friendly". Cheers Rob. Here's what the kit contains: Mocked up, not sure what wheels I'll run yet. Coat of primer on her, stay tuned......
