Harry P. Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Thanks for that photo, Paul. I know that my top boot is a bit on the large side... but my main complaint with the kit piece was that is is molded with perfectly straight edges and surfces. I wanted a more realistic softer look, so I made my own. Yes, a bit too big, and if I were to do it over again I would fix that, but oh well...
peekay Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Coming along beautifully, Harry. Once again, very creative solutions to the kit's inherent problems. Here's one I've been working on for a while. It's a fantastic multi-media kit in 1:32nd from Tomy. This is just a mock-up, body painted and with the PE wire wheels done. LOTS of details to add yet. (Note the toothpick for scale.)

sjordan2 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 PS....I'd really like to see your process for putting mesh on the headlights. I haven't yet figured out how to avoid adhesive smears.
Harry P. Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Slight delay in progress... I need to find some "in scale" mesh for the headlight stone guards. New photos as they become available...
Harry P. Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 And here's the last step... I built a storage trunk to fit behind the seats, just in case my Jaguar owner and his best girl wanted to pack a picnic lunch, or maybe take a change of clothes because they're spending the weekend at a country bed and breakfast inn. First I made the actual wooden box and lid using basswood: Then I cut pieces of some faux-leather material I have (found in the fabric/sewing section of HL)... and used contact cement on the back of the "leather" and the storage box/trunk to wrap the trunk and trunk lid with the material: And now on to "Under Glass!"
Cato Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Wow! You even make up sordid tales to go with your models! Easy on those meds Harry.....
