Jonj238 Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 What is the best way to cut sheet styrene? I am just starting to use it, and use a straight edge and my xacto knife. I score the sheet a few times and "snap" it off. Only problem is that my straight edge doesn't seem as straight as I want it after I snap it off.

I use a razor saw (mitre saw) Take a look at the Tips & Tricks board, this subject has come up before.

anarximis Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 any tips on adding what looks like doors to the outside of sleepers and windows (mainly the widow frame)
kilrathy10 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 (edited) Well, if you're not doing an interior, you could just scribe where the doors and windows would be.....Use the back of an Exacto knife or a thin, flathead screwdriver.....Just mark out what and where you want to cut with a pencil and get to scribing.....Or you could just slap a rectangular piece of plastic on the side to represent a door like I did, here....http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76098 Edited May 24, 2015 by kilrathy10
anarximis Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 okay thanks, what I was thinking with the window was having a clear piece (for the glass of course) and having a curtain behind it but iam not sure what to do about the windowsill it's self
Brinx Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Dark tinted (limo tint) windows can make the illusion of a window without having to worry about being actually transparent.
Renegade Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 JT is the man on truck models. Great job on the sleeper.
