Petetrucker07 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Figured I'd let it out. This will be my next project after I finish the Volvo. I know what I'm doing with it. I have an image of what it will look like. Now that I have it, I can make it happen. What I'm gonna start off with is stretching the frame and do some sheet, strip, and what not. I hope I have enough of what I need on hand here, or stuff close enough. Any help and heads up would be appreciated. Edited June 4, 2015 by Petetrucker07
guitarsam326 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Cant wait to see it Clayton! Im dying to dig into mine, but i gotta get this Paystar done first!
Guest Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 What I'm gonna start off with is stretching the frame.... Why the stretch?
Petetrucker07 Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) This won't have a 5th wheel. I need to make room. Well. I need to do some test fitting before I let my master plan out of the bag Edited June 3, 2015 by Petetrucker07

Superpeterbilt Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I don't think he's going to break Terry..... methinks maybe a flatbed, but almost sure it's a wrecker. I'll go as far as to say Revell KW body. Am I right?
Superpeterbilt Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Hay hauler? Are there Mack DMs in Cali? Maybe an R700, but a DM600? Sounds fishy......
tbill Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 sheesh Clayton, you gotta share your tips on how fast you build these killer looking trucks. takes me forever to get one built.
guitarsam326 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Are there Mack DMs in Cali? Maybe an R700, but a DM600? Sounds fishy...... Just throwin it out there.... Then again i have been around a lot of glue today!
Guest Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Hay hauler? Are there Mack DMs in Cali? Maybe an R700, but a DM600? Sounds fishy...... If he does a hay hauler wouldn't that make it a DMH 600?.......
Superpeterbilt Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 If he does a hay hauler wouldn't that make it a DMH 600?....... DH 600, unless it mixes hay....?
Guest Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 DH 600, unless it mixes hay....? So the hay mixer would be an HM 600?
Superpeterbilt Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 So the hay mixer would be an HM 600? Yes, Hay concrete is much stonger. Thats what the Romans used.
cowboy rich Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 That truck and stretch could make a good flat bed with boom crane also
Guest Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Yes, Hay concrete is much stonger. Thats what the Romans used. Not to be confused with the Cloaking Device that the Romulans used, but that's another story....
tbill Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 ........as long as there are no clingons near Uranus, it's all good..........
Petetrucker07 Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Come on fellas. I'm willing to put money on this. It's gonna be real hard to peterize this. I did some Google searching and could not find a 1:1 like I'm picturing in my head. I found a few B models and A-Cars. A dump truck would be cool, but, it's been done before. So would a wrecker, but again, been done. Edited June 4, 2015 by Petetrucker07
Petetrucker07 Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Ok, I'll tell ya all. Seems like this build has some attention. Since this post will make 2 pages already. A DM600 mobile crane.
Guest Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 ........as long as there are no clingons near Uranus, it's all good.......... Beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent life down here...

Superpeterbilt Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Cool concept. Keep in mind, if you want to correct it, the driver side fender/cab is incorrectly notched. This was a carry over from when Ertl took over the MPC moulds. They used the DM 800 cab, which is notched differently than the 600 should be. Alain had some pics, but I cant find them.
tbill Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent life down here... hehe, ya, that was pretty bad, but I couldn't resist
