truckmodell Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Hi My new project is EU container trailer for 20' container. All parts I will make with CNC. I will use Tyres and mudguards from Italeri. For drawing I'm using 3D programme Solidworks. All parts I will make from Polystyrol. I decided that for this trailer I will do 2 chassis, namely one chassis, will be designer for Italeri container which it doesn't have right measures, the second chassis will be for real container or tankcontainer. 20' Italeri container has 25cm, the real 20' container has got 25,4 cm.
gatorincebu Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 And we enter a new the new modern workshop using the newer technologies. I am in awe of those people who are tech savy enough to do this stuff. But I do like the end results ! Be Well Gator
kilrathy10 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 How about that technology, eh?? Looking great.....Very nice, so far.....
Arnd Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Grate work on that subject. I am verry impressed about the shape of the parts They look verry realistic. Do you own one of this cnc mashiens? They are quite expensive but do a grate work and the possibilities are endless on what can be fabricate. Looking forwad to this project. So long Arnd
truckmodell Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Hi I have CNC at home and for it I paid 3500€. This is picture before CNC has been made.
gatorincebu Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 That is interesting, to see how the parts are cut and then assembled. i think this willbe a really nice trailer once completed. Be Well Gator
RAT-T Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 DAVID, HOW DO YOU HOLD THE PLASTIC DOWN WHILE MILLING, DOUBLE SIDED TAPE?
63 Truck Model Builder Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 David, The project looks great, the detail look amazing . Can't wait to see more pictures.
truckmodell Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Hi "RAT-T" - This is a big problem which I don't successfully solve till now. Polystirol 2, 3, 4 and 5 mm is enough thick that it don't move between working, I weight it also with iron stick. Polystirol 0.3, 0.5, 0.75, 1 and 1.5 mm is moving despite weight so I need to hold it with hands. I try also with double tape but this tape is so strong that I can not remove small parts from tape. "63 Truck Model Builder" - David
truckmodell Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Hi A few pictures about making chassis & airbags:
RAT-T Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I try also with double tape but this tape is so strong that I can not remove small parts from tape. DAVID, DO YOU HAVE WD-40 WHERE YOU LIVE? IT WORKS PRETTY GOOD AT DESOLVING THE ADHESIVE ON THE TAPE
truckmodell Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Hi "RAT-T" - of course I know WD 40, this I need to try it. David
RAT-T Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Hi "RAT-T" - of course I know WD 40, this I need to try it. David OH OK, I WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS AVAILABLE IN SLOVENIA YOU CAN ALSO LAY A PAPER TOWEL OVER THE TAPE & SATURATE IT WITH WD-40 WORKED FOR ME
