Foxer Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I'm back to working on my 2013 Mini Countryman I had and there's a color call out in the instructions for a Radome color paint. This is a Mr. Color color and I had purchased it as I'm doing a factory build. It is a yellow-tan color and I have no idea what material this is supposed to represent .. it is only on the underside .. a undercoating maybe? The photo shows where it is. Still a 3rd brush coat to go .. feel like I'm 10 again brushing ships! So, I'm really interested in what material this color is supposed to represent .. would appreciate anyone who knows, or even guesses enlightening us!
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) Radome = radar dome. It's a non-reflective paint that radar waves pass through easily. Sometimes called out for aircraft models. My best guess on your Mini model is that it's supposed to represent a specific undercoating... Edited June 14, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy
Foxer Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) You always make sense, Ace! I wish I had the car still to crawl under, but some new undercoating was my only guess. I figured it was an aircraft color concerning radar .. eheh edit: ohh .. missed those photos you added.. there it is!! .. and I can be sloppy and kludgy with the brush paint .
