Superpeterbilt Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Depending on which model RD your looking for, the RD 800 is the only one currently available. Mtfaco used to have the RD600, but I havent seen it in AITMs catalog. If your looking for the RD 686 steel hood, I think that is still available through AITM, or maybe Sourkraut.
Guest Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) who makes a mack rd hood Is this the hood your looking for? If so it's casted by Daniel at Plaskit Resin. plaskit_resin@yahoo.ca You will need an AMT R Model for a donor Edited June 24, 2015 by Anthony Oteri

Guest Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Now i see why my wife says i should keep my mouth shut! My intention was to clarify the original question. The Mack model designations can be confusing, I was not attempting to prove either you or Superpeterbilt wrong. If my replies suggested so please accept my apologies.

Mike T. Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 GW trucks shows an RD hood conversion as well as aDM690, DM600 steel hood and an RB 600 hood conversion.
Guest Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Neither Plaskit or GW has a website. Plaskit did have an Ebay store, not sure what his current status is.

Guest Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 No offense taken Anthony, sometimes i pick on myself as much as i can anyone else! Cool! I think it's good to be able to poke fun at yourself, my wifes been poking fun at me for over 30 years now...
chris02719 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 If I were going to build one of these, I'd personally go with the gw trucks hood, as the aitm and plaskit hoods aren't as accurate. It also has the suspension parts to "modernize" the front end. Just my 2 cents

Just my 2 cents I've never seen Gary's hood finished and installed on a truck model, only on display at his vendors table at Masscar 5-6 years ago. I think Gordon Berry (scaletrucker) has one. Plaskit (Plaskit Resin) is now on Facebook. Charles, Does Daniel still have his Ebay store?

I'll get to it at some point.
sptruckie Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 does anyone know where to purchase gwtrucks parts
Jim B Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 You can purchase GW Truck parts directly from Gary Wallace. Contact him at gwtrucks@yahoo.com.
