3100 chevy Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Thinking along the lines of b400, sports coupe, 4 door, convertible sedan, and cabriolet These would all be made at one time and then moulded all together so I will only need to get silicone once. Just judging interests before I put in a lot of work
mike 51 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) You might want to research which bodies Ford actually made and what they were called and which bodies are already offered by the aftermarket first. This strikes me as VERY ambitious for a 14 year old....any samples of your work? Edited July 9, 2015 by mike 51
3100 chevy Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Wait until the final product before complaining about it and the craftsmanship Edited July 9, 2015 by 3100 chevy
mike 51 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Chuckling... Who complained about ANYTHING? Did my post confuse you somehow? Settle down boy.... Edited July 9, 2015 by mike 51

About the research I think I got confused by saying b400 and convertible sedan as I thought they were slightly different.Chuckling... Who complained about ANYTHING? Did my post confuse you somehow? Settle down boy.... 1 I may have interpreted the post differently than you had expected 2 I'm trying to judge interests not having people question how I will do this.
mike 51 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) " I'm trying to judge interests not having people question how I will do this." I'm assuming the amount of interest will be related to who's doing it and how. If the project is percieved as unlikely to proceed, the interest won't be there. I think people will want more info than you seem willing to share.. .but good luck none the less Edited July 10, 2015 by mike 51
Jon Cole Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Yeah, hearing defensive talk right out of the gate will send up red flags in a hobby that is already weighed down with trust issues (thus the "good trader/bad trader" stuff that regularly appears in hobby social media). Think more like a salesman. You need to sell yourself, your skills, and your integrity. You can make, or break it with every word you post. Good luck to you.
DrKerry Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Well said Jon, 3100 people not knowing you for you you have to paint a pic of who you are and starting out the way you did doesn't make you look to good. I'm 46 and been in this hobby since I was 8 and I have seen a lot of people get pushed to the side by a thing that was said or done or not backing up what they said. I do like your ambition and hope you push forward with your dreams and ideas, this hobby can use that. Just be cautious how and what you say!!! Best of luck!!!
fractalign Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Sounds interesting ! Just for the record though "Replicas and Minitures" already do a 32 Cabriolet and possibly a 32 Sports Coupe. I think the idea of a four door sedan is a great idea. As far as I know the ones that are available are based on the old MPC or AMT designs. A four door sedan based on the Revell tudor body would certainly generate interest, another thing you could look into is a tourer as well. The AMT and MPC version are terrible.
