Jantrix Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Thanks Eric. I'm planning another quick & simple build very soon.
Rotorbolt73 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Man thats pretty slick looking. I like how you used the rally rims from the Revell 67 chevelle and even the alligator on the package tray from the old AMT 57 chevy..Love the dark green. the turn signal bullets are a novel idea. were they the clear bullets from the old AMT 57 Ford?? The grille looks more like the one used in the old Revell 54 chevy kit though. the 49-52 was different.. Awesome work..This build makes me want to dig out one of my gluebomb 57 monogram kits and rebuild it similar in this style.. I've been stuck with builders block lately and haven't worked on anything in the last month..I need a quick build to get me back in the groove.. Edited August 6, 2015 by Rotorbolt73

I was looking for small lenses in my spare parts when I noticed them. Some clear orange and the rest is history.Quite right. The Revell '54 is in my stash waiting to be kit bashed into a gasser Avanti. No plans for the body so I cut away the center bar and added it to the '57 grill. It looks so natural there I wonder why I haven't seen it done before. This was my first quick build. It will not be my last. It's very thereputic. I think though rather than trying to dedicate three straight days, I'll dedicate three straight Saturdays. Much easier on the family unit. I'm already planning my next one. Thanks very much for the compliments. I look forward to seeing yours. Edited August 6, 2015 by Jantrix
Danno Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Very nice and original touches, Rob. Good job. Not often somebody can come up with a new touch on a '57 Chevy!
Jantrix Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) Thanks Danno. Much appreciated. I strive for some measure of originality in all my models. As you said, it is hard to do it in the automotive world. Edited September 15, 2015 by Jantrix
10thumbs Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Hey Rob, you did good. I think this new style dull paint job is done very nicely. I'm seeing more and more of these on the road.
