Billy Kingsley Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Still on for Toledo, Gregg? Are you guys going to drive to it? (and I thought my 11 hour one way trip was alot!)
PatRedmond Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I am in Salem right now, staying with Jairus We will be busting okole, trying to get ready for a huge road trip that will take about six weeks. We have a booth for the Chicago iHobby Expo, and hope to have a great time there. Watch for more cool stuff from the show coming soon. This show and year will be the turning point for MCM. I will be on the mainland from now till November 27. We (Jairus and I) have a lot of shows, and work to do. Then, it's back home for the winter........ Start the 'NumbAss Tour 2006' Travelog NOW !!!
jbwelda Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 i am planning on moving to kauai in july 07 after i retire so maybe i will see you around! (yeah i know its a different island and honolulu is a world unto itself).

PatRedmond Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Sooooo how do you know about "Numbass"? That's a secret!!!! A few of us did a 3 day trip we called 'The NumbAss Tour' a few years back. I can imagine 6 weeks or more on the road will qualify exponentially as NumbAss .....
cepwin Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 "My dream or goal is to be in both places: Hawaii and the mainland. Hopefully it will work out. But hope is just a dream that is not pursued, right?" Best of Luck Gregg on your tour and plans. I'm listening to a book by Rabbi Harold Kushner that is very related to this...his theme is one's dreams may not always work out as planned but make the most of your situation. You're producing an excellent magazine and I wish you continued success. I hope you can get the mag into more retail outlets such as B&N and the hobby stores. I got my first copy at a model club meeting as I hadn't seen it before.
KT EASTMAN Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 So Gregg, whats the latest?? Have you found a place and settled in yet??? KT
Guest zebm1 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Stay away from Flawduh Gregg, everyone's moving north. Is getting too darned expensive to live down here anymore. They appraised mah little 1 bdroom/1 bath from 43k to 94k this year, based on last years sales. Tha house next door was built when mine was, in 1958, has an modest addition on it, 189k. Gotta be a millionaire to live in Flawduh anymore.
Gregg Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Kelly and I got a small place, one bedroom cottage, real nice and quiet No furniture yet Just got one of those tempur-pedic style beds though, what a difference I just want to sleep all the time If you can afford one, GET ONE! We looked at a nice house last week, it was cheap! Only $695,000 May have to tear it down though We looked at some condos also, not bad, there was a nice 1 bedroom for $315,000, but leasehold. Oh well... :-)
Custom Hearse Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 We looked at a nice house last week, it was cheap! Only $695,000 May have to tear it down though Hmmmm.... interesting. Buy a house, and then tear it down. For that kind of money, you could buy a REAL NICE HOUSE in Joplin. One catch though.... It gets a little twisted out here!
KT EASTMAN Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 We looked at a nice house last week, it was cheap! Only $695,000 May have to tear it down though :-) CHEAP!!!!! OUCH!!! You could buy up half of Colorado Springs with almost 3/4 of a MILLION Dollars!!! KT
Guest zebm1 Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Yeah and yu won't spill any drinks on tha laundry either Gregg.
LVZ2881 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Gregg needs to move to Salem.... I grew up in Oregon, and graduated from Sprague high in Salem in '95. moved to Vegas in '98 and regretted it ever since. the wife and i are planning a move back to Salem late this year or early next year. Gregg, I moved from honolulu to the Seattle area in the mid 80's(parents were navy), and as nice as Hawaii was, my parents and I have never regretted it!!!! Salem!!, Salem!!!, Salem!!!!
Gregg Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Hawaii is my home though Been here, what, 40 years? It's a way of life, lifestyle, family, friends, way of doing things I did try the mainland, twice already. It's so cheap! I could have a bloody mansion up there! And I could live anywhere. But, Hawaii is home I'm not Hawaiian, but Hawaii is my home, it's a part of me I can't ignore....
Billy Kingsley Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 It's so cheap! I could have a bloody mansion up there! And I could live anywhere. When was the last time you came to New York, Gregg? Ain't nothing cheap here!!
LVZ2881 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Gregg, its understandable when you've been someplace for 40 years. If I had lived in Honolulu for 40 years, I might not want to leave either.... Fortunetely, I only lived there for 4 years, and left when i was 7, so I dont have many memories to miss....... So Jairus, how is Salem lately???? Is the cruise-in at schlotsky's still going, or has it moved to somewhere else??? Its been a couple years since I have made it to one.
