Phillip Sandell Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I am using two different kits. Revell Motor-City Muscle '69 Shelby Gt-500 combined with a AMT The Fast and the Furious Toyota Supra VeilSide. I want to use the motor and wheels from the Supra and put it in the Mustang. My local Hobby Shop is having a Model Car contest and thats what i want to builde. I think i have 5 months to build it. I've only built one model before this and tryed another but never finished the second one. So hopefully i can finish this project. Any hints or help would be great. Plus im not so good with photo's. SRY
RodneyBad Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 It sounds like a good project rig. I like where your going with it.. For photos. (not my strong point either) A tri-pod helps and a camera with a timer (no shackie hands) and a Little more distance (12-18"inches most digital cameras at Micro setting(lil Flower on Menu) Hope this helps a bit.. Be watching your build
Rick Schmidt Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Hey Phillip I'm gonna watch this one too gotta love the Stangs lol What color ya plannin??
Nick F40 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Hmm, instead of a Nissan engine, a Toyota. NICE! Edited March 13, 2008 by Nick F40
m408 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 SACRILEGE A toyota, nisson, saab, yugo, or anything else in a Shelby GT-500? That's like putting a chainsaw engine in a Corvette. Just kidding, good luck on your build. Keep us posted on your progress.
CAL Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Okay then... strange, very strange. I guess it could have been a 3 cylinder - what was that thing Chevy Sprint? Geo? Some goofy thing. It's just doesn't seem like a Shelby without a big Ford V8 in it, but hey, it's your model. Carry on.
moonlite5hadow Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) i hope you dont mind, but this has inspired me. so much so that i picked up two of the fast and the furious '67 mustangs, and i happen to have a spare supra motor from tamiya's supra, and i decided to try this as well. im going to try my best to scrathcbuild a lot of the details inside such as turbo/intercooler etc. (i think the F&F veilside supra comes with some power-adding details). i'll be following your build as i slowly go through mine (this is my eighth project im working on! so i got many projects progressing slowly) and i will be posting my progress as well. I'll be ditching those cartoonish wheels that come in the F&F mustang kit... the actual tire is about as thick as a rubber band, and the rims are way to f-ing big IMHO. the second stang will have a kitbashed Skyline motor between the ###### RB26 provided in the F&F kit and Aoshima's almost as disappointing S-series "detailed" RB26 with a single massive turbo (more akin to the movie than the stock twin-turbo motor AMT provides). we'll see how THAT works out... still trying to FIND the turbos on AMT's snaked-out exhaust.
