Rick Schmidt Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Yep poor ole Rons car is stolen..... well in scale anyway lol I seen this pic of his car tonight and was hit by it then I realized I have that Stang model and rims like those heheehe well ya know the rest. While it won't be a dead on match for his it will be inspired by his. Heres the pic of the junk I gathered so far I'll be posting more soon
Rick Schmidt Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 Are you gonna put a nissan engine in it? Lol Actually I have that kit too but was trying to save most of it. I still have the Skyline??? ( I think it was a Skyline engine ) but traded a friend that needed it the 289. But No this one I will use the 289 from a Parts kit for the build. Didn't see many pics of the real one in my Stolen Idea pics lol so I'm goin on my own with it lol. Don't matter its not a full on replica of his I just love its style lol
Phillip Sandell Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Im using a 69 Mustang Shelby GT-500 and putting a Toyota Supra Engine in it. I have pics on here but ther not so good. Take a look. its under Ib the workbench called 1969 Shelby Gt-500
Rick Schmidt Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Not the most Major update but it was one of the few things keeping this car back. The hood lol The car that inspired me has a Shelby style Scoop on a stock style hood. I liked the idea so wanted to do it on mine My hood His hood Dang Ron had me fooled for a bit thinkin that was a Shelby nose missing the running lights lol
Ron L Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 His hood Dang Ron had me fooled for a bit thinkin that was a Shelby nose missing the running lights lol Aaah! What sad individual would let a '67 get that bad? Oh wait.. Ugh, I really hate that picture, but it's nice to see how far I've got since then. BTW the hood also has louvers, like this one. I've been meaning to graft the Shelby louvers from another kit to make that hood in 1/25 but you know how it goes, too many projects. Good eye, noticing it's a stock-length hood. Where'd you get the wheels from?
Rick Schmidt Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Hey Ron Glad to hear from the man who owns the real one. Sorry bout the hated pic but it showed what I needed lol. As for the lettin it get that bad. My 1-1 82 looks worse so don't feel bad I'll look into the louvers on the hood I have a 68 Shelby here I think has louvers on the hood have to see if I can find its hood and Swipe the louvers from it. I Swiped the rims from a long gone Focus rally car ( think it'll notice ??) I know they are 4 lug But I just aint worked out how I want to solve that yet.
Ron L Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 .. they are 4 lug But I just aint worked out how I want to solve that yet.Make some center caps? I'm planning to do that for mine, "one of these days".
Rick Schmidt Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 Make some center caps? I'm planning to do that for mine, "one of these days". Ron I was thinkin that myself would be the easiest fix in this case. I also got a set from a Rally Honda look just like those I just found no lug pattern showing tho because they have the one nut in the center holds em on May use those since they look like they already have caps
Rick Schmidt Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Not a whole lot to update but here she sits as of now. Still a little work to be done on the hood. Got the grey part on the body ready and have replaced a lot of the parts missing from the car, Motor mounts driver seat dash a few engine bits.
