Pete J. Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 In the 30's Ettore Bugatti was well know for his race winning autos but few knew he was teamed up with French aviation engineer Louis de Morge to create what is a mind blowing aircraft that was such an engineering masterpiece that it is a wonder by todays standards. Twin engine, coaxial counter rotating props, V tailed and sleek beyond belief, the aircraft never flew because WWII intervened. The aircraft was almost ready to fly but when the Germans invaded France, Bugatti hid the aircraft and it was forgotten until just a few years ago. A pilot by the name of Scott Wilson put together a group to recreate and fly the blue bird and it has done high speed taxi test and is almost ready to slip the surly bond of earth. If you have any interest in aviation of wonderful things from the 30's you must look at this. It is hard to believe that this was designed 80 years ago. It looks like it could go racing in todays races. Here is the link to the kickstarter page. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/525000827/reve-bleu-bugattis-blue-dream-will-finally-fly/description
