Clay Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 (edited) Well like the title says, this is kinda in progress, I got the body painted just now, I will post pics when it dries. It is painted with HOK Limetime green pearl, and it smells good too Edited March 23, 2008 by jones_clayton
Raul_Perez Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I may have to try some of that stuff. My wife always complains about the "smell" whenever I spray paint anything out in the garage, especially the lacquer based primer. The only thing that she doesn't complain about are the Tamiya acrylics in the bottles. Thanks,
Clay Posted March 8, 2008 Author Posted March 8, 2008 Well here are the pics, has a shot of HOK Clear on it. I will do a layer of future on it later on. And Raul, the only place that I knew of that sold HOK paints was walmart, you mioght be able to find it online some where.
Raul_Perez Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 That's got a pretty good looking shine on it, Clay! The LHS near where I work carries HOK paint. I may pick some up the next time I'm there. If I don't like the color I guess that I can always use it as air freshener!
george 53 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 House of Kolor paint at WALMART??!! I always thought that was mail order stuff. Do all Walmarts carry it? Definatly gotta chack that out!

Definatly gotta chack that out! Thats what was at the Walmart in Cali, dont know about now since they are discontinuing their model section. Anyway here is an update on the SRT8, thought I would go a different way with it, the frame needs some triming and I need to cut a hole in the hood to fit the engine. Different huh? MrObsessive Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Looks good Clay! I built one of those a while back and it goes together very well without much drama. Yours will definitely "stand out" in the crowd! I'd like to see Revell do an '08 version since Dodge is discontinuing the 1:1-------but I know that won't happen.
Clay Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Nah just kidding, thats my chassis for my monster truck that I am building, and what do you mean dodge is discontiuning the Magnum. Its only been out for about 5 or 6 years.
MrObsessive Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 what do you mean dodge is discontiuning the Magnum. Its only been out for about 5 or 6 years. 'Tis true. Here's a story from a while back from Leftlane News confirming this among other models Dodge has discontinued.

Clay Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Well here is the big change, my wife found this while she was cleaning up her parents house. Thought i would put the engine in the station wagon.

Clay Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Well Raul was right, I will have to shoehorn that engine in. I have already had to cut the engine mounts to lower them, and I had ti cut a cross member out of the front for the engine to fit.
evilone Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 thats the fun part my 454 didnt fit in my 60 pick up easily i had to cut alot out to even think of putting it in the truck

Clay Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 awww jeez, YOUR GETTING BLOOD EVERYWHYERE!!! anywhoooo, this is coming along nicely, love my Lime greens. I did have to be careful when doing the BMF not to open the cut back up again. looks good. looks like that 488 is gonna be a tight squeeze in there Yeah it does look like it will be tight, I need to finish the engine so I can see what else I need to cut out. Hmmmm maybe I should have done this before I got everything painted. Oh well, thats what tape is for.
