cobraman Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 This will be my next project. Plans call for it to be a street gasser style ( street Freak ? ). Will have raised suspension, straight axle, large rear tires and a bright paint color. What that color may be is unknown at this time.
Speedfreak Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Cool project Ray, Make it one of those REALLY bright colors Tamiya has, not sure what they call them but they look florescent. Knock this one out of the park! I like this kit.
AC Norton Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 .....a very exciting project idea, Ray.....best of luck......the Ace......
cobraman Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 Thanks. I wonder what this would look like with a Vette roof ??? No way, not again ! : )
AC Norton Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 ....that piece would look very tough in all black---with a semi gloss red interior.....just my opinion....the Ace......
cobraman Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Wow ! That is kind of the look I will be going for. Perhaps not quite that high but we'll see.
Crazy Ed Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Aw shucks. I was hopin' for a 7 ltr Galaxie VW Westfalia Gasser. After all you Did say Bright Colors!
cobraman Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 I managed to get the body painted. I used Testors Copper and then Blazing Black on the top. Did a different style 2 tone that I'm not sure I care for.
AC Norton Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Ray, just a thought here...it may look a bit nicer if the black was also sprayed to include the hood and header panel behind the hood too.....and the application of a pin stripe decal around the rear area, separating the two colors may help as well.....the Ace....
cobraman Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Here is a quick mock up. Body still needs to be cleared and my favorite job..... BMF.
cobraman Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 Thanks Carl. This is a pretty nice kit to work with.
