Thank you again for the great words.  For the floor / carpet I used embossing powder that I picked up from Michaels.  Takes some pratice but once you get comfortable with it great results can be achieved.  Plus it cheap ($5.), and if you mess up it can be washed out.  I always use white because it absorbs the color you paint with a look of carpet when done.
